I am 100% not racist and voted for Obama with pride but i actually like the rebel flag as it stands for exactly that, rebelion, not the desire for slaves. The civil war was about states rights vs national control. Slavery was terrible, but so has the "union" been under the control of regan and the bushes. Very, very nice, man. I like the guitar a lot. OU!! I'm from Enid. I really like the "hidden" cavity under the bridge so you can pull the bar back. Never seen anyone do that before. I put a EVH D-Tuna on my floyd rose to drop the d but had to sacrifice pulling back the bar, so my next project is to rout out a little piece underneath the d-tuna to pull it back.

It stands for states rights, smaller central government. There was also blacks that fought for the Confederacy because they knew a large central government could make us all slaves, not just those of a particular race. Even Lincoln didn't mind slavery. well look at it this way, you only have to repaint your body, i actually dont recommend painted the neck. take all the hardware off that you dont want paint on, take your time, and even if the paintjob doesnt turn out well, you can always sand it back down and start over. this is the third time ive painted this same guitar. good luck

well i have an acoustic that i bought with a flag paintjob. i traced one of those stars, took tape in squares and basically traced the star onto the squares of tape, cut them out and stuck them on before paint, it worked out real nice. when i did my car i glue sticked paper stars on my roof but the paper stuck in i had to scrape em out haha

What were you're measurements for the cut under the bridge, or did you just guess at that, and does that not flutter a lot.

It's a cool idea instead of buying a fully floating bridge.

it didnt really require measurements, just straight lines so i layed down tape. its not as good as a full floating tremolo but its capable of quite a bit, and since i have the room now i could slap a real full floater on it now. thanks im glad you liked it

well the paintjob itself took almost a whole day i started on it before noon and was done at about 11 at night, the secret to it was that i took very fine grit wet sanding paper and very slowly sanded all the paint off. i couldnt sleep that night so starting at midnight i sanded and sanded until 6 in the morning

Most people down south(and some around the world), including myself, take the Confederate flag as more of "rebellion" than "racist". I even have black friends down here that have rebel flags in their rooms and cars. Pretty much its just a symbol of the South now, not so much racism, though obviously it's still taken in that way by many.

its really doing three paint jobs in one, but its possible to do in one day. i actually used some special 3Mtape for the job i had 2" and like 1/2" for the stripes, its orange and similar to electrical tape, but you at least need very good quality masking tape. to make the stars, the last time i drew one out with a compass, but this time i traced a star from my other guitar. i then doubled two pieces of thick tape sticky sides in traced and cut it out, then cut out stars from 2"x2" tape pieces
