  • hey i used one of those to cut someones neck

  • Roto, pero funciona!!!!

  • remembering old times

  • Why that's the prettiest angle grinder I've ever seen.

  • Serious?

  • Definitely not a fake! I remember this one--it's just that no one could afford a d-88. I believe it was designed to play the small cds (that never made it--probably because mini disc changed things around too) That model had a switch to fit the standard cds.

  • Lol a lethal weapon built by Sony.

  • how can I put that on my packet?

  • I believe it had a protective case for the exposed part of the CD

  • well i guess they thought you don't need to put ti in a bag .... lolz :D

  • Wow, there's no disc protection for this unit. Play it, scratch it, done. It's still an interesting CD player though.

  • It is built to play 80 mm disks - this is what it looks playing 120mm whit protector taken out.

  • theres one problem digital audio is bullshit it just sucks.:P

  • Love it! Some great Hammond jazz too.

  • oh man. i want one

  • I'll have to try to find the 8cm CDs I was given.

  • they looked bloody dangerous.

  • The disc spins on the outside?

Is it supposed to do that?

  • Call me completely crazy, but I just bought one like that on eBay. Might be part of my midlife crisis, but I just had to have one of my teenage memories materialized. I'm using it to play my eighties CD's, and for one or another reason, they sound so much better on that old D-88 than on my slim, slick and shiny iPod.

  • thats because every thing on your "slim, slick and shiny iPod" in compressed onto a rubbish format!

  • I have one of these. Also have a couple hundred or so different mini-cd's, though I sold some a few years back.

The other obsolete tech thing I have is a bunch of CD-Videos, gold-colored CDs with video on them, they were out at the same time and fared even less successfully.

  • you should try to rip the video off those cds is it a VCD you should be able to its the avsoo.dat file (im not 100% sure on the exact filename) but its the .dat file in the mpegav folder on the discopen this file in windows media player to watch, or copy this filt to your HD and rename it as an mpeg file, rename the .dat extension to .mpg

  • No, they aren't VCD, they are CDV which is totally different. CDVs are discs that have 20 minutes of CD audio tracks, and one video track that is ANALOG, recorded in the same format as the old laserdiscs were. CDVs only play on laserdisc players.

  • dang you cant put an analog disc in a cd rom drive can you? im pretty sure you cant

  • Nope, you sure can't.

  • dang

  • I have one as well, could you ever buy the 8cm discs?

  • You could get pre-recorded ones at one time. I've got three from the mid-late 80s.

  • Yeah, SONY, the one and only! This proves it.

  • You actually sold that cd player????? my god!!! what have you done! :'(

  • what did you say that ?

    Because i have a D-88 to sold .... Is is a mistake ?

  • Cause that is one of those treasures you can´t sold o just get rid of it......it's kinda sad =(

  • if you hang it from the ceiling and put popsicle sticks on the disc you will have a ceiling fan w/ music! really, its a cool cd player

  • i have one too

    they r awesome !

  • thats a wierd looking cd player, kinda have to watch out for that spinning disc, my first discman was square looking and had no antiskip and my cousin had one like it but it was messed up

  • Somebody in Japan bought it from me on eBay for $80.

  • wtf?
