  • At least this film is realistic, showing the germans had skilled pilots.

  • I wouldn't be too surprised if Kesselring's famous line "Give me a squadron of Spitfires.." actually was "Give me a squadron of Czechoslovaks..."

  • Remember Eric Lock True Hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dont understand all this dnt forgewt about the poles they are remembered.

    as pilots of the RAF

  • @creamycurdy "dont understand all this dnt forgewt about the poles"

But they fought their way across Europe before ending up in England to fight with the RAF. Josef František a Czech flew with 303 Polish Squadron. He was ill disciplined and would often fly away from his formation on lone wolf missions "metoda Frantiszka" (method of Frantisek) as the Poles described it. To deal with this he was made a guest of the squadron so he could basically fly off on his own solo missions.

  • Respect to Czech pilots from Poland and thanks for Frantisek He Was good pilot and friend. We should fight together in 1938 and kicked the Hitler ass.

  • @ferdovit He was a good pilot no doubt about that, but that exceptionality alone I believe saved him from being court marshalled, where he eventually would end up for being a soldier with such a piss poor discipline.

  • Well done, Czechs. You were the best pilots. You also show the reality of battle. I get sick of those English movies where the English pilots are great and everyone else, especially the Germans are useless.

  • Don't fogget about the Poles... :)

  • Pathe. Of course I don't forget the Poles. they did a great job too! This is a film about the Czech pilots, is it not? There are other films which show what the Poles did. :)

  • @swanningaround wth? What movies are these exactly? As far as I see it movies always make out how american pilots or canadians saved the day. Seriously misguided.

  • @gamemoviezone Yes. That is true. American pilots are the best. I never heard of any good Canadian pilots. For the last 200 years, America has been number one. America will be the world's only superpwer for at least the next 1000 years. You should be proud of the American citizens.

  • @swanningaround you are bigoted racist mong. Try Billy Bishop (Canada) with over 70 victories in WW1. You are a halfwit that cannot even use google to find WW1 and WW2 aces. You are not fit to lick the boots of any Canadian serviceman, although you clearly want to screw American boys. The British Empire was more powerful than the US less than 100 years ago and China will be more powerful and wealty in less than 50 years. Go screw yourself you inbred freak.

  • @swisstoony Your name "swisstony" sums you up. Respect the Czech and American flyboys - heroes of the Battle of Britain.

  • @swanningaround "utter cock" sums you up. Far more Canadians fought in the BoB than US and for you to state that YOU have never heard of a good Canadian Pilot shows only your ignorance and stupidity. You can try and rewrite history if you like, but no one who reads FACTs will bother to listen. I have massive respect for Czech and US Airman (I serve alongside them in NATO), but also British & Canadian, who were the majority of aircrew in the BoB and the HIGHEST scorers. You are a little turd.

  • I have also served alongside US and Canadian pilots in Afghanistan and US pilots in Iraq. Where have you been you little armchair general? You are clearly not in the services and clearly not aircrew. I suspect that you are still at home sucking your mummy's saggy titties. I suggest that you read up on some facts about the BoB, the small US contribution, the large Polish contribution, the even larger Canadian contribution and the overwhelming UK contribution. You might even learn something.

  • @swanningaround What English movies? I get sick of cretins with an inferiority complex like you. If you watch the (British) Battle of Britain Movie, a huge amount of respect is paid to the Luftwaffe aircrew and their bravery. Also to the Poles. Did an English boy screw you girlfriend or boyfriend? Stop making up crap and join the real world you pathetic little whiner. Try posting a FACT, not your ignorant misinformed opinion - it isn't worth shit.

  • Top 3 BoB aces. Lock, Lacey and McKellar - ALL BRITISH. Most casualties BY FAR were British. The aircraft that Czechs, US, UK and Poles etc were flying in, were British. The only allied country in Europe NOT successful invaded by the Nazis was Britain. Stop trying to tell me how unworthy we are and how you don't like our movies. You are only here thanks to Britain and the BoB pilots of all nations. All of them are better men than you will ever be.

  • @swisstoony Look, idiot. I know about you. You think you are a real lady's man like many English. When it comes to fighting, just leave it to the Czechs and th American. Leave the bullshit to the English.

  • @swanningaround @swanningaround. You are an embarrassment to Czechs everywhere. You are not Czech military, presumably you failed the fitness test or were rejected for being a cock. Stop kissing American arse (you are so gay) and read a history book for adults instead of children. I have shown your posts to some Czech Aircrew colleagues of mine and they too think that you are a . They told me to call you a Piča. Goodbye from Ramstein AFB forever. Do prdele.

  • @swisstoony OK. Gay? Are you trying to proposition me? You saucy beast!

  • Its film about czehoslovakia piolete´s Its not polish discrimination

  • Sorry sir, but you don't have to be a jackass about it. I was not alive in 1938. Don't blame me. You should be ashamed of yourself. You misrepresent the Czech republic. Don't give me this stuff about Josef being the best of all in the Battle of Britain. No proof of that. Shame on you too. I resent your viscious attack.

  • No offence, but czechoslovak pilot Josef František scored 17 victories during the Battle of Britain. With 11 victories in France he totally scored 28 victories but died in the accident during landing on october the eight, 1940. Check wikipedia.

  • Thanks for the interesting facts about pilot Frantisek. I appreciate the reference cited too. Your reply was much more professional than someone else's.

  • Had never heard of this movie before, and saw it tonight on cable tv, by accident. Pretty good flying scenes of Spitfires. Where was it filmed? I love the sound of the Merlin engines. Didn't know that the Checks flew with the RAF.

  • It suppose to be like in england but the movie was made in Czech republic, yes several pilots were fighting in RAF during WW2

  • be ashamed, the best fighter of battle of britain was Czech pilot Josef František, you, member of traitorous nation that betrayed us in 1938, and our heroes fought and died for our homeland in your traitorous country and you don´t know that and even you cannot write english name of our nation correctly, shame on you!!!!

  • I wonder what happened to the number 2 then. I could see him hanging from his parachute.

    Dead?

  • See the movie and you will see :) and no, he will not die after this... :)

  • Thank you.. where could I buy this film- with an English translation ?

  • This movie was good, but fukkin boring

  • Great picture, i saw it, shame no english subtitles on this clip!

  • deep blue, please!

  • Excellent movie, Air War buffs must see this.
