Thanks for posting this video. The aerial photography (especially of the base) is well done. I was at Udorn from May 1969 to May 1970 (432nd CES). Your video sure refreshes old memories.
Great video! I was stationed at Udorn from July 72 to July 73. Just in time for Linebacker II. I was an aircraft electrician in the 432 FMS. I'll bet I worked on more than one of the F-4s in the video. I miss the Redwood restaurant!
Wow - small world - we may have seen each other at some point. Thanks for serving. I remember Linebacker II only too well. Dec 72 was a busy month, eh? take care......Sam.
@haywired58 I did see Bob Hope. He became my favorite entertainer that day. It was a very sad day for me when Bob passed away. You were on the Rescue Pad with Pedro?
Loved each and every one of the videos. Brought back a lot of memories for me. Thanks for making these available to Udorn Vets. Sincerely, Bob Mull, 432nd Security Police Sqdn., Udorn RTAFB, 1971-1972
I joined my husband at Udorn in 74 as a private citizen. I absolutely loved the experience, all of it, samlars, fried rice, Charon Hotel, open market... lived in a complex just across the street from the base, off base of course since I was unauthorized. Had to leave country every 3 months... took a boat across the Mekong river. Thanks for posting this!!!
Well....certainly glad you visited and liked it. Thanks for your service sir!
