1218 will most likely never run again. It's completely stripped inside. It's basically just an empty shell. 611, however, with a few upgrades, could run again..but that is also very doubtful

what a shame to hear both engines look so sad there in the muselm"stuffed an mounted "I find it hard to believe that the nS wont at least restore 611 to run again on public relations trips and maybee officers specials I was still in highschool and never got to see either engine running unfortunatlly I had a teacher from Bluefield WV and she met me at the door of class with a sad look on her face the day the NS killed the steam program with a clipping from the bluefield newspaper

I was thinking the same thing but at least its freigh behing this engine like it belongs but a coal train would look better
