Love how they have the lyrics in the background on the screen. Seems like a very awesome experience. How great the the Kingdom of GOD has such great talent for the cause!!!
there is no right way to reach out to God. He reaches each person in the way they can be reached AKA Gods way not mans way. As christans we should not judge everyone has their own way to worship. We all should think about that before any of us say anything.
I went to a CC concert it was the must PURE worship experience I ever had! People of GOD are in different places, your worship is your worship! You can't what other do. Worship is personal to you and GOD!!!
The title of this song has become my anthem for the rest of my life!!!! I will keep these words in my heart for the rest of my days" until the WHOLE WORLD hears"
The Bible says we must get ready for the Lord's return. I don't know what your theology or denomination says but the Bible says that we must be close to Him to be ready for Him when he comes. And Tim LaHaye is not necessarily right people!
For one, it's a new song (especially back in August; it wasn't even on the radio then), so people didn't know it. Second, who said you have to raise your hands when you worship? There was plenty of worship going on at that concert.
Desertcrash... Not everyone raises their hands to worship... Did you not hear everyone in there shout when he said "give a shout"? You are right, no one in there heard anything......
@Igam08 i do agree with you about what Desertcrash said.. you cannot judge the worship in a persons heart simply by their outward expression BUT the bible does say to lift up holy hands, also says to give a SHOUT of praise to the lord... praise should be exuberant and expressive... david danced clean out of his tunic when the ark came back to his city, i agree with you in a respect BUT if we love him, we need to make it known, not by pretending to worship but actually worshipping with passion.
I've been hearing this song on my local radio station. The music is awesome, but the lyrics are SO powerful and pertinent to us at this time. We've become far too comfortable just being saved when we're supposed to be reaching the world.
From a strictly artistic standpoint... I love how Christian artists still sound great in-concert, unlike the majority of their secular contemporaries whose musical qualities seem to suffer in a live setting.
This was the best concert I have EVER been to!! When this song came on..it gave me the chills and everyone was singing and lifting their hands...even the cops that were there patrolling the area were looking down on the concert when this song came on..It was so amazing how God was moving that night..God Bless :)
I am inspired to see more Christian music concerts, thanks to this video. I feel like I'm in a concert every week at my church, but I'm sure this would take it to a whole 'nother level, as they say at my church! Praise God!
You are right in that the presentation is not the most important thing, but, is it possible, just possible that the presentation distracts from God? Is not the purpose of having Christian concerts to bring people into an experience with God? If that is the case then shouldn't we do everything we can to focus people on getting that encounter? I am not saying the lights, fog, etc are bad, but isn' that kind of thing catered more towards entertaining people vs the other?
as cool as this is, and i love Casting Crowns...but I wish we could see more of the kind of worship that takes people into the throne room presence of God...
please do not think i mean to diminish CC, but when i see concerts like this where they have a lot of really cool light effects and some really good music, but where is the life transforming breakthrough? my heart breaks to see a generation that knows a lot of good songs but is still fundamentally without dramatic impact in our world...
I can maybe understand your point about the lights, but Casting Crowns' music does have a "life transforming breakthrough." Just look at the lyrics to their songs. How could they not have that sort of an effect?
yes, the lyrics are great, and i really do like Casting Crowns, but there is a difference between a good message and a worship encounter that takes you to the holy of holies...obviously everything cannot be this, but my comment earlier was more out of a heart cry for deeper, more intimate worship than a criticism of CC : )
the lights, smoke and other effects are cool and make for a great show but I find it distracts from the God encounter (its hrd to focus on God when theres light in ur eyes!)
The thing is, it comes down to personal opinion in what makes a worship time meaningful. As a worship/youth pastor, I tailor things to reach a specific audience with every song choice/mood choice. The question is intent and audience. To quote Paul, "I have become ALL things to ALL people so that by ALL possible means, I might save some." It's about meeting people where they are and doing things that reach them without any compromise in the message, which is Crowns in a nutshell...
I used to think the same mate. I used to think that all the rock music etc was a bit over the top and took away from the worship.. but then I went to one of casting crowns concerts. Yes, they may have fast up beat songs where the lights move and all.. but they are the fun songs they do... we all have them.. but they ALWAYS bring it down to a serious level and play worship that you cant do anything but concentrate on Him (God).
thats great, and like i said, i love Casting Crowns and please do not think i was trying to criticize them...
but what about the explosive breakthroughs? to see what i mean check out a video called "Power of God Hits Brazil (with Steve Foss)"... this is what i am talking about
what CC does is really good, and their messages are NEEDED...my comment was more because i keep searching the web for true life changing encounters through worship and it is so rare...
Assuming DailyRenewal has never attended a Casting Crowns concert. I was skeptical about attending my first concert . I try to be careful about the Christian music I listen to, the line can be crossed. Let me say that I came away from the concert with nothing negative to say at all. The presence of The Lord was very strong, I felt as though we had just been to an awesome church/worship service. CC prays over every seat/ticket holder before the concert and they close the concert in prayer.
DailyRenewal- My family and I will be attending the Casting Crowns concert tomorrow in Charlotte. Will you join me in prayer and ask The Lord to bless our time there and that everyone present will see God for ALL that He is and may everyone leave the concert more committed to the cause of Christ? My prayer for Casting Crowns is for God to protect them, keep them close to Him and bless them for all they are doing TRUTHFULLY in His name.
@DailyRenewal First off as a saved Christian the Modern Church is not designed for you or spacificly the "Saved Christian." It is design to get the attenion of seekers and hold them. Your job as a CHristian should be to NOT critisze the Church for the methods of reaching this generation. The Christians that are critics like yourself (and I don't mean to he harsh I am just pointing out facts) hurt and limit any gains made by the Church. Jesus said the well do not need a doctor. Please die to self
@DailyRenewal there is no right way to reach out to God. He reaches each person in the way they can be reached AKA Gods way not mans way. As christans we should not judge everyone has their own way to worship. We all should think about that before any of us say anything.
Never seen God work through a band like this... I've seen them three times. Powerful, between the eyes messages. Their messages have moved me to praise and tears of joy. Love the new song. I lead an Alpha group in our church and I'll be using it as inspiration to reach out to as many people as possible! "Holy nation sanctified, let this be our battle cry!"
VERY GOOD!
