  • doesn"t that hurt there feet

  • This so slow.. The tempo is supposed to be allegro moderato.. But great dancing.

  • They don't seem to be as passionate as when I watch The Bolshoi Ballet do this.

  • every step must be perfect, that´s why i like this most

  • Ballerinas are hot.

  • This is a beautiful dance, and there's no denying they dance it wonderfully, but doesn't it generally go a little faster than this?

  • is it weird if I am dancing along to this at home?

  • 52 people have no lives :L

  • Pas-de-Quatre will always have a sweet spot in my heart. That was the last dance I did in demi-pointe :)

  • ive been doing ballet since the age of 2 and am so happy that im now doing that on stage! hard work has really paid off!

  • It's wonderful what they can do. Great teamwork. But how do they pick the little swans though? Are they the youngest dancers or the shortest ones?

  • Si belle !

  • I just realized, they have this dance on the Bed Intruder song.

  • I "LOVE♥" THIS DANCE EVEN THOUGH THESE GIRLS MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY ITS HARD BECAUSE IN MY BALLET CLASS WE ARE BARELY STARTING THIS DANCE AND ITS COMPLICATED!!! SOOO I JUST LIKE THE MUSIC AND THE DANCE (BEAUTIFUL) ♥♥♥!

  • Beautifull !!!

  • Един наполеон , други нечовешки формирования и накрая една криза? Руснаците са най изстрадали от целото ви въобръжение и се праите на ударени с мокър парцал.

  • the best best best. Ballett is so faboulos!

  • It's one of my favourites!

  • How in the all worlds anyone dared to say "I don't like it"? That was beyond my understanding.

  • The one on the far left can't pas de chat....asides from that bravissimo!

  • Lots, I'm sure! It is a beautiful dance.

  • God, how many hours of practice it must have taken to perfect this dance!!!

  • mhm... da geht mein herz auf <3

  • I know of a friend that I would love to see her do this(:

  • This dance has for me, shown more sadness and despair than any other dance in this ballet. I don't know why but its like the only dance that displays the terror and depression swan face in this ballet, don't ask me why. Vote this if you feel the same

  • can someone tell me how can I apply the audio in a video? like I'm supposed to make a vid with with only the audio, but I have no idea how to do it... =/

  • Gillian is the Swan Princess. The Heroine.

  • Since, you people listen and love this music, I hope you could tell me what music is in this video: watch?v=Qoqj6gTVbj0 ?

    Thanks.

  • amei s2

  • They make it look so effortless, staying together like they do...if even one of them messes up just a little the whole thing's off...definitely a lot harder than it looks!

  • i remember when i first started my ballet classes, the teacher brought in 4 of her scholar students who performed this for us, she does it every year with for the beginners. i hope i'll be chosen to do this dance for them when i'm a scholar.

  • I just wanna be like them

  • Do you think these girls have to like each other? even in private life?

  • @MegaTammyTammy this looks extremely hard to me... must be because I barely know how to walk properly ;)

  • PERFEITAS!!!! bravo!!!!!!!

  • this slightly scares me...

  • this is the most entertaining part of swan lake! not that all they other parts are not wonderful!

  • THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DANCE EVER !

  • Beautiful :)

  • This is so very beautiful.

  • dmwnc1959, no offence and im not trying 2 call u stupid or anything, but this iz wat u call tons of practice, and i noe coz i do ballet and they're full on pros to perform this.

  • Beautiful....

  • that is just spectacluar. how they all stay in perfect sync amazes me. absolutely beautiful

  • @TWILIGHTANDWIGGLES hours of gruelling practice

  • @tammyuk lol, well it paid off.

  • Just an amateurish question..... I've never seen all of Swan Lake and don't know alot about it. I do however appreciate ballet. In this scene, are these swans supposed to be on the water. Their tutu's give that effect of the water line and their legs swimming. Am I being stupid?

  • @jessmindahful Definitely not stupid! I was always taught we were supposed to be on the water - calm & controlled above the water line, busy busy busy below! This very tricky p d q. was only ever intended to give the P. B a bit of a break (it is the most physically demanding lead role in ballet, Darcey Bussell usually got through at least 3 prs of pointes, sometimes, 4 PER PERFORMANCE) and show off the 'lesser beings' technique. ABT's tutus are lovely.

  • Oops, yes, that was a reply to @MrKLT1945.

  • Ha, not my play on words. "Go For Barocco" was a dance Les Trocs performed, a florid piece in the style of Balanchine. Given I was not a fan of his style, I found it riotously funny. But honestly, it actually helped me be a bit more open minded about Balanchine. Yes, those senior moments, ugh.

  • @expate1 Never saw that one, wish I had. Do they still have it in repertoire? I must check my spelling in future, if I acn remember, that is! I can take or leave Balanchine, except Symphony in C, which I love. Bussell never got the hang of the whole company bit in that ballet - always holding her leg up too long when everyone else had moved on. Not a team player, that one. I'm glad she has retired and put her gigantic clonky feet up!

  • Que hermoso :D el ballet y su musica son lo maximo! pueden expresar tantas emociones!

  • not to be funny but i wonder how much pain their feet are in i mean they practice constantly but oh man.they must get paid thousands. especially the lead roles.

  • This seems so easy, but it's really really really HARD.

  • So true, though I've always been partial to ABT. I took classes there one fall in the 70's (when they were near Columbus Circle) and rode the elevator with Makarova, watched Baryshnikov rehearsing with Kirkland, Gregory, and van Hammel all in one session, etc., and generally had a blast.

  • @expate1 I am soooo green with envy at how close you are to such top companies - you are blessed in the US! Had masterclasses with Nureyev while we were both at ROH (me lowly new corps member) - the patience of a saint - and Makarova, who WAS a saint! Saw Baryshnikov regularly in London, at his peak. Like Rudi, you could feel the elctricity run thru' the auditorium when they were just WALKING onstage. lol

  • The 40 people who disliked this are stupid

  • PERFECT!

  • @MrKLT1945 - Yes, I saw (actually, ushered for) Trockadero back in the late 1970's in New Orleans. I even went out to dinner with a group of them after the performance. They definitely "go for barocco". :)

I want to say I then saw them in NYC around 1981 and did not find them as campy or accomplished.

  • @expate1 Cool! All companies go up and down tho' - Last time I saw the Trocks was a few years ago and they were as as good & as entertaining as I remembered them. The last time I saw NYCB (3yrs ago) they were very flat, very disappointing. I prefer ABT these days. lol

  • @expate1 P.s Just out og a very senior moment and finally got the baroco joke! Nice one!

  • flawless i remember trying to do this when i was in studio and it would be so hard because i was always stuck in the middle or the ends with tall people and i was always being shoved around. But this is true precision and art!

  • Forget Black Swan. Enjoy this fantastic representation. This has nothing to do with Black Swan.

  • Thumbs up if you know this ballet is a classic relic and should not be associated with some shitty film about a crazy chic. I may be a PRETENTIOUS ASSHOLE but at least I know the difference between art and a fucking movie.

  • @TheSixelar7- You know, it's possible to know the difference WITHOUT being a pretentious asshole... ps, movies are art whether or not you agree.

  • @soyuncatacol Movies are not always art. Movies, particularly popular movies like Black Swan, are motivated by money and high profit, where art is motivated by expression. I mean, they plugged in a tacky, unnecessary lesbian scene between Mila and Natalie just to get male viewers to see their ballet movie. Not art. 100% motivated by greed.

  • @NoelBlueheart it is still art regardless of what you think, fuckface

  • @nfaguade Haha! Perfect. Declare it is without proof or explanation, and then personally attack me. That, sir, guarantees you the default position of the loser. Congratulations. Two people have now assisted you in making an ass of yourself.

  • @NoelBlueheart I have an opinion, you have an opinion. I am not going to argue with a nobody the definition of art. If you want to think your opinion is the right one, so be it.

  • @nfaguade You're the one calling people assholes because they don't share you views. I'd think before being such an asshole next time, and you want have to submit like this.

  • @NoelBlueheart I think you're both assholes and fuckfaces simpley because everyone is entitled to freedom of opinion and speech.

In my opinion, all movies, paintings, books etc are some form of art because they hold a sense of creativity, but you two are forgetting that some art pieces are fucking terrible to some, and golden to others. Art isn't always a beautifully perfect masterpiece as these fine ladies just performed.

  • @jackdaknife "everyone is entitled to freedom of opinion and speech"

Um... exactly. That includes me. So why are you defending everyone's right to freedom of speech, but at the same time attacking my freedom to the same thing? Keep your hissy fits to yourself, little boy, and run along now. I don't have much tolerance for fucking hypocrites like you.

  • @NoelBlueheart Lol, calm down sir, i'm not attacking you, i'm making a point. If you don't see it then, well, without being a dick about it, you should probably read more.

  • Thumbs up if you know this ballet is a classic relic and should not be associated with some shitty film about a crazy chic. I may be a PRETENTIOUS ASSHOLE but at least I know the difference between art and a fucking movie.

  • One of these days maybe in a few years I want to do this, probably when I actually have my pointe shoes. :)

  • I love ballet but have a sense of humor too. check out Erinie Kovacs version of "Swan Lake" danced, I believe, by members of the Los Angeles Ballet. It's on youtube. Search for Ernie Kovacs Swan Lake and choose the five minute version. Enjoy!!!

  • @expate1 And don't forget the Trocks (Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo), an all male group of classical dancers (been going for years as a company) who do wonderful parodies. Try and see them live for a great night out, or check them out on YT. Only THE most precious lover of ballet would be sniffy about them!

  • their very together

why don't they ever smile :)

  • WTF......I said BRAVA

  • perfect

  • ROFL, step forward all those who have seen it "LIVE"

Everyone else is a pretension snot. Unless you actually dance it.

    ROFL

  • אגם הברבורים

  • dançam bem....mas eu danço melhor...rsrs parabens

  • And i just can't understand how people just like the dance, for me tchaikovsky wrote it for being a big orchestra piece and there's no coreography no matter how good the dancer is to beat the music.

  • Realy, swan lake always was a big ballet, since like ever, everyone know at least a measure from this piece.

  • It's amazing how these four artist remain so in sync with each other to the point that it's absolutely mesmerizing. Simply beautiful.

  • @dmwnc1959 Well they practice forever then its not so hard to conceive how in sinc they are.

  • Dios, precioso, necesito ver y escuchar esto en directo con mis dos ojitos.

  • Absolutamente maravilloso.

  • How did this turn into a Black Swan discussion!?! Just enjoy the frickin ballet.

  • @ballet81895 because natalie portman is just hot

  • This is amazing. Its so breathtaking. I am 14 and I do a lot of ballet and this year for one of my recital dances we have to do this kind of lines.holding hands and it's so much harder than it looks an these girls do it so well! It would be my dream to be doing what they are right now!

  • I wish i could dance this, a few more years :) wish me luck!

  • @hueglow you are sayinging in the beginning of your post 'thumbs up', then you are saying that you are tired of posts beginning with thumbs up if??

  • Perfectas !!!!

    Espectaculares !!!!!!

  • I think, if the youth watch Black Swan, they at least get a taste of some ballet aspects. By seeing Swan Lake in the movie, it's sparks their interest in searching for Swan Lake(and other ballet) material on youtube, and or ballet lessons. It's better that they learn about ballet from a movie, than from sitting in their rooms watching music videos that have video vixens shaking their butts. So I say, let the people who watched Black Swan be welcomed.
