The Guy I took my amp to imports old Marshall amps from Europe- Pre 1980 heads and refurbishes them to spec. He took my Carvin heads and replaced the transformers, capacitors, resistors, etc as well as high biased the tubes to match old Marshall Plexi specs (or close to it) so he heats the head up. The down side is the modification burns up the tubes in about 2 years but the upside is the tone. Kind of a cross between a Marshal and a Mesa Duel rectifier.
