It's interesting how many people fall for these gross oversimplifications: black vs white, rich vs. poor, rock vs hip-hop, usa vs europe, those without red hair believing their superior to those with red hair (even though that began as cartoon humour), republicans vs democrats (when there're no added benefits for the citizenry under either of these parties - you get the same results from both - deception), white collar vs blue collar, etc. etc. Don't fall for it, seek to understand! UNIFY!.

In essence people are engaged in the struggle to live with some sense of purpose and dignity. To judge/mock/hate those individuals is therapeutic self-denial; the self-proclaimed judge denying that he/she is indeed engaged in that same struggle - it's a comfort to falsely believe one is better than human. Most want to be intelligent, or to simply appear so & to win! Intelligent interactions in this forum appear as relevant well-thought commentary, not simply hateful, recationary attacks. Love...

Regarding the conversations about the idea of the "Hipster": there's so much assumption and judgement in some of these comments. I don't know if there's such a thing as a hipster. The knowledge I'm confident in is: people are insidiously being divided at a point in history(particularly usa history) when people NEED, for the sake of their own communities, to become one RATIONAL force, demanding justice and compassion for humankind. Don't allow yourself to be pitted against your neighbour. LOVE!

A hipster is typically someone who does something or has a different lifestyle to the majority of people for the sake of being different. Type of people you see on youtube videos claiming they were listening to some obscure band wayyyy before they became mainstream etc etc. Also, ironically, the same kind of people who buy macbooks for the sole purpose of sitting in coffeeshops to look cool.

hipster is is a variation on hip, as opposed to square. aka, hippie.

which is a name for the counter culture movement. these terms have been around in jazz long before anybody else adopted them. people that "try" to be hipster are by definition adhering to a culture, therefore falsely identifying with the term

@Emnor1993 I do think Foals are underrated and Total life forever is an amazing album. Although Foals first album always sounds fresh to me more than total life forever, I never get bored of Foals's debut. I really want Foals to do more experimental stuff, because I really like their weird b sides, similar to Radiohead some of them. I really like The Smiths aswell and I have heard of Japan and I know they are like post-punk but I have never listened to them haha. I will check them out though.
