  • Some say that deep breathing is not good, as in the Buteyko method. Yet, this speaker talks of deep, slow breathing. Which is it?

    There are many Buteyko practitioners who have gotten a lot of benefit from his techniques as is evidenced by the many Buteyko groups around the world. Many of them are asthma sufferers (I believe). However, there is now a mountain of hard science through research and double blind studies that show the benefits of slower, deeper breathing. I suspect both have their place depending on what you are trying to accomplish.
