HI, I got a quick question. Everytime im surfing on the internet and it freezes on me (not responding). When i make it respond my youtube doesnt work at all. it just freezes on me. The way to make it work again is if I restore my systems. I cant be doing that all the time..is there a solution?
You won't lose your OS if you use the HP Recovery partition method shown in the video. It's not a full disk "reformat", it just copies the original factory image (including the OS) from the D: partition over onto the C: drive that you use, so that you can start over like it was when you first bought your computer. But make sure you back up your personal data, because that will all be wiped out, plus you will need to reinstall any applications you loaded after you bought the PC.
Hi! I believe you can help me a lot here. I bought my HP with Vista two years ago and now I want to restore it to it's factory settings. My main concern is: at the time I didn't create the recovery discs, and when I told people I was hoping to format my computer they told me I would lose my original Vista OS. Using HP Recovery Manager the way you did, is it necessary to have those self-created Recovery Disc or a Windows Vista CD (although it didn't come with the computer)? Thanks in advance!
If I create the disk, can I get rid of the recovery partitions? I have 4 partitions on my system out of the box, but I have want to install ubuntu on my system which requires additional partitions. Please advise. I did burn the 5 recovery disk and my files are backed up in the cloud.
@DrunkilyUnsober Yes it will keep vista, unless if you had xp before and installed vista on it via disc. mcaffe should give you a backup key so if u delete mcaffe u reinstall it and use tht product key
I did everything you sayed.. But still nothing:( when i am on the recovery manager i click on no at program recovery , no at driver recovery , no at microsoft system restore , YES at recover to original factory conditions.. Then my Computer shut down and a Blue screen appears all I see is my mouse pointer no Recovery Manager window after shutting it down... NOTHING .PLEASE HELP !!!!!
Yes, for the Win7 version of TouchSmart, if you created your own partitions, full system recovery will wipe them out (the Vista versions behave a little differently). Back up your stuff.
i downloaded Avg virus protection but it will not work It keeps saying error everytime i do an update and i tried to delete it fully from my laptop but it wont let me Anyone know how to do that?
If you don't have an HP you may not have it. Maybe you got CDs with your computer that would have recovery. Or try Windows System Restore, see the other howto4u video on how to do that.
Does this partition have a failsafe as in if it was ever modified it can't be accessed in order to stop viruses from coming back when you do the system reinstallilling process? Because nothing is worst than doing a system restore and then the process goes wrong so any information over my. Matter is appreciated
My laptop is HP Pavilion zt1145. I bought it in 2002. I need to reformat it . How to do it. I have 3 recovery disks, but it is not working pls help me.
should i resort to this method shown in the video? I recently got a BSOD(blue screen of death) and my computer is much slower than normal(it is only 1 year old) They say it is a last resort but theres nothing else i can do about it. Please help me

I think to launch recovery from the Recovery CD (that you would have made or gotten from HP), just insert the CD, then reboot the PC and the recovery should launch automatically from the CD.

TheKRNG 1 year ago
Do you have an HP desktop? If it's not, it may be a different method to get to recovery. If it's an older HP desktop, try the F10 key instead.

It depends how much Hard Drive space you have, and how old your computer is.
