@nothorwitzer Haha ya man i just found out after posting that, we have a place called Limerick here also, no where near as nice though. Shows my ignorance thinking there's just the one haha ;D
@crimson22s ...hahah, I totally know what you mean. Same shit happened to me years ago. i ride through their back yard to get to the trail now ........but ALWAYS slow, quiet, and RESPECTFUL.
How is the stock suspension setup on this bike? I have a 380SX that I ride desert but it is very stiff since it is a SX model. The only 300XC-W I have ridden was a friends who had the suspension valved and sprung for his style and weight.
@Scottsmotox yeah, everyone i know on a 300 says they use it because its as close to a four stroke as you can get without having engine break and the front wheel dig in the sand as bad
@hadriel8 A 300 XC/XC-W does pull like a 4-stroke. A lot of low end power and more torque than a 450F. Yet they still scream in the power band. I have ridden one. I have grown up on 4-strokes.
This video was recorded at regular speed on a GoPro wide-angle camera. Its my buddy ridding my bike. He's quick, but not a pro and he's 50 yrs old. We do occasionally hit trees and i've cracked ribs on more than one occasion.
The sound on .avi video's go out of sync when uploaded and processed by YouTube.
@HoleShotQikOnClutch Haha! Thats right it DOESN'T SOUND LIKE IT IS GOING AS FAST AS IT LOOKS. Welcome to the world of the 300 2-stroke. I the had made the video on a 125 it would SOUND like this guy is INSANE going this speed.
Exactly right Jason. I have the same bike and it has so much torque that you don't have to scream the RPM's up there to make it move. Short shift it all day long, get more traction, use less energy. 300 is where it's at man.
After watching this video, I now feel like a total poser being a new owenr of this bike. Take this video, slow it down tow 1/4 speed and that would be me.LOL
How do you like that bike. Does it foul a lot of plugs on the trails? Also, is it snappy? I mean will the front end come up in like 3rd and 4th gear? Also, does it jump good?
a good day of riding ( 5 hours aprox ) and it will be 3/4ths empty or more but u have reverser but it cost me ( i have a four stroke honda ) about 2.50 - 5.00 dollars for gas lol for a good day of riding.
Great video and great riding looks like lots of fun. Im from kildare but i wouldnt mind driving for trails like that! Just wondering where you bought your bike from and what price it was. I thought they only sold the sx and exc models over here? I really would love one to buy one of those beasts!
You can buy it new for $7000 to $8500cdn in Ontario Canada, depending on the time of year. We have endless amount of trails - from easy to extremely rugged with lots of climbing.
Cool. They are a serious machine for sure, i would love to buy one but i dont know if the wide ratio gear box is worth going to canada and back for, i think the exc may do me!
I just sold my 2004 KX500. I loved that bike but the chassis old technology. I think the KTM 300XC-W will be my next bike. I am 290lbs but I hear it has incredible tourqe. Enough for a fat ass like me!
is that bike just as fast off the line as say a 250 sxf
