In a denser population a virus will have more hosts to infect. If a virus kills it's host before it has chance to spread the virus dies with the host but if it there is a bigger population then it can 'jump' from one host to an other and have a greater chance of surviving (and evolving) and killing more hosts. The place where the most uncontacted tribes are is in the Amazon with an estimated 67 tribes. New Guinea has an estimated 25 uncontacted tribes. and there is one on Sentinel Islands. I heard rumors of some in Africa but wasn't able to pull up anything on it.

@Asarelah Yes, much wood can be obtained in local forests but it would cost more; Clearing land in a LDC (Less deveolped country) is easier and cheaper for the contracters, the lumber industry, places like Home Depot and Loews´s and construction companies.
It´s all about the costs. If you can come up with a way for people to build homes using locally grown wood at a cheap price and have those forests replaced (which takes several decades) then work on the proposal and sell it-you´d be rich.
