It is a MOD.  Which means modification. It is supposed to look different then half life 2.

Of course.. HL2DM, CSS, HL2 are all Source games... You need one of them and it will work.. Some games wont work on CSS

Actually that is inpossible. At first u Need half life 2. Ok half life 2 can u download ilegal. BUT a hl2 mod requires steam and the source engine. That is only possible on steam itself. Also u need steam for the servers.

You can only play it with Source games. Half life 2 is the best choise but i think Day of defeat source or counter strike source will work fine too.
