  • I demand a fight with him in the coliseum in 13-2 so I can enjoy this music again.

  • @solidpat221 I reckon it will be. We got Lightning, Sazh, and Amodor. Pretty sure they'll release Hope and Snow (XIII version), and Fang and Vanille. Dysley/Barthandelus will surely make the cut.

  • @rissole25 Hell its the best battle music in 13 that didn't make it into 13-2. Well minus the final boss fight anyways.

  • Thumbs up if you don't thumb every comment which says 'thumbs up'

  • @kharkarus Do you realize you just contradicted yourself?

  • @PaladinPlays Is just that I enjoy creating logical errors :D

  • I found Barthandelus easy in all 3 fights. Maybe because I grinded my Crystarium to max every time it expanded...

  • the only final fantasy villain that has non-cliche and unique dialogue.

  • @FlameSpyro1 And one of the few villains that go, "Yeah, I WANT to die."

  • @FruggleFarkle123 same can be said of XIII-2's villain, but difference is it destroys of all of time itself if he dies.

  • @GenmaTheSamurai If you get all of the Paradox endings you actually find out that Caius basically WAS the godess. When the Etro died she blessed Caius with her own heart, which basically was keeping everything stable. So in reality if you think about it, Caius was trying to sucker you into killing him the whole entired game just so the whole world could be swallowed up.

  • @solidpat221 I know that. And I did get all the parado endings, but most of it just seemed like a waste of time to get. I understand, what you are saying about him practically being the goddess, but if you know the mythology behind the franchise, what he meant by "Die again" Was simply this. Etro was created together with a few other Fal'Cie. But among them, she was given no power of her own. IN agony, she tore at her own body and dissappeared into the invisible realm.

  • @solidpat221 -continued- The invisible realm is Valhalla. Within this realm Etro met the one who had created her creater Muin. Muin had begun to fade into the chaos of Valhalla, so in her last moments she intrusted Etro with the Chaos. Afterwards Etro looked back to earth, where mankind had sprung from her blood. Looking at them, she felt affection and gave them pieces of Chaos, their hearts.

  • @solidpat221 wait...that doesn't make any sense. Lightning was protecting the goddess Etro. and since she could all of history from Valhalla, surely she knew she was in a way protecting Caius right? God. so who's side is she on? I'm so confused!

  • i thought Barthandelus is the final boss, he was so freaking annoying,!!!

  • This song reminds me of the Raging Moments I had battle this fuckhead!

  • so bin so einsam

  • Man I hated this fight

  • "Will you enjoy the festivities beside me or perhaps, greet the end here in the land where it all began?"

  • 62 people are Fal'Cies who overpowered Barthandelus

  • everytime i hear this in FFXIII i say "is it that time again allready?"

  • Thumbs up if you have defeated Barthandelus

  • @alster724 More times than I really care to count LOL

  • Bathandelus hit the dislike button as I defeated him.

  • Witness the power of L'cie!

    MAGIC AMPLIFIER!

  • THANATOSIAN LAUGHTER!!

  • so what are they saying @2:14 ?

  • I dont know why, but to me, alot of 13s music has short moments of awe inspiring excellence, yet the rest of the track is 'meh'. Not sure how it can cover both ends of the spectrum like that, several times, in each track.

  • Only one word. Epic! Yoko Shimomura composed this right? Another amazing piece as always

  • @LimitBreaker77 not Yoko, FF13 composer is Masashi Hamauzu.

  • @taepoppuri Oh. I thought it would be Yoko since she does Kingdom Hearts.

  • @taepoppuri Who Cares Personally they are BOTH absolutly GENIUSES

  • @LimitBreaker77 Seriously, Limit? It's not Yoko Shimomura.

Anyways, I knew you would comment here, you were telling me about this song today

  • FAIL, ignore my comments

  • The name's called "Fighting Fate", I think...

  • Jihl Nabaat disliked this video.

  • BARTHANDELUS!!!

  • It's wierd how simplier is the literal translation:

    Ragnarok, a Day of Wrath.

The Pulse l'Cie. Follow your fate. Afflict your sanctuary.

    Ragnarok, a Day of Wrath.

The Pulse l'Cie. Follow your fate. Afflict your sanctuary.

    By the eternal sleep.

The divine divinity has been called. (Doesn't sounds as redundant in latin, though)

    The lamentable wanderer/traveler.

  • *Walks into the room*

    Clair: Do you hear it?

    Snow: N... no, i don't.

Clair: Is it safe to come in?

    Snow: I think so.

    *Everybody walks in*

Snow: Wow it's pretty nice in here--

    *Music plays*

    Sahz: EVERY NIGGA FOR HIMSELF.

Snow: RUN FOR THE EXIT--- RUN FOR THE EXIT!

  • @TheGr8assFr8ass you KNOW someone might say that in 2012!

  • @TheGr8assFr8ass this easily made my day XD

  • omaigawd this is epic music

  • Hey you , yes you Barthandelus ! if Chuck Norris saw u , he gonna kick ur ass with one kick !

  • Barthandelus: TELL ME A JOKE!

    Me: -Tells a joke-

    Barthandelus uses Thatanenious Laughter.

    Me: O,O

  • Thumbs if you can't beat Barthandelus.

  • Deary me, that Latin really does not use enough syllables :O

  • Ragnarok, come Day of Wrath

O Pulse l'Cie. Embrace thy fate, thine home to burn.

    Ragnarok, come Day of Wrath

O Pulse l'Cie. Embrace thy fate, thine home to burn.

That fallen souls might bear our plea.

    To hasten the Divine's return.

    O piteous Wanderer.

Make of this day a brave epoch. Deliver the Divine, Ragnarok

  • This reminds me of when I stopped playing the game for 1 month because I couldn't beat Barthandelus

  • I used to love this theme that it is until i got stuck on barthandelus like 68 times

  • Barthandelus disliked the vid

  • @aeropavore is now and it is delicous.

  • @tadakastuhonda now all we need is Born Anew and my life will be complete

  • @Ragerofmachines indeed. and Nascent Requiem xD

  • like seriously...would it have killed SE to put more FFXIII chars in duodecim..?

  • Very pleased this video is doing so well. :)

  • Cocoon's nothing to you!?

  • I think i had to replay this boss about 10 times in a row. my mom almost broke the speakers (the vocals are pretty uh intense)...awesome song though!

  • This song gives me chills, i love de the voices, it looks like a religious song, barthandelus, this boss has a really imperial side, this song should be classified at the same level as the theme of Sephiroth.

  • @Ahri87 i dont think its as catchy as "one winged angle" but its still realy good

  • This sends shivers down my spine. The thought of fighting Bartandelus just scares me to bits. I was able to beat first time on the third fight with him, I think.

  • WHY WASN'T THIS IN DISSIDIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @aeropavore I don't want them ruining this awesome theme :(

But it just MIGHT be a downloadable music DLC :D

  • @aeropavore It's gonna be there as dlc =P

  • @Nedas21 thank god for that!

  • @aeropavore Yep! I'm a bit worried that they're gonna mess it up as a remix though... >.<"

  • @Nedas21 It couldn't get any more epic!

  • @aeropavore it is now! just released in a DLC pack today!

  • @aeropavore because Dissidia came out while FF13 was still in development. Is that so hard to figure out?

  • @notoriouswhitemoth that's why lightning wasn't in as well, it would be good if it was added as dlc though, just cause it's epic not cause that it is litterally the ONLY relation to 13 in the game

  • @notoriouswhitemoth hes refering to duodecium

  • @notoriouswhitemoth d'ya know the EXACT reason that square enix didn't put lightning in though?

  • @aeropavore Yeah: she didn't exist yet.

  • @aeropavore It is in Dissidia if you buy the FFXIII DLC music, which I consider a dick-move on their part

  • @aeropavore

It is now, it was recently released as DLC.

  • @alphamone I haven't even got duodecim! :(

  • @aeropavore It's Downloadable Content Bro!

  • @CrimsonVermillioneye well I got 012 last week, so I'll get it. and do you have to buy it in the pp store after you've downloaded it?

  • @aeropavore Know you have to download the music packs for Dissidia Duodecim on using a Japanese PSN account. That you have to change the file so you can put it where the American DLC goes. I don't know too much about it myself. You could ask people on gamefaqs or this youtuber "ZellDincht1226" who knows all about the DLC and how to use it.

  • @aeropavore Its a DLC in Dissdia 012.

  • @aeropavore it is :/

  • @aeropavore this would have been badass!!! of all the songs they could have added THIS should have been one of em XD

  • @aeropavore this si on Dissidia....its one of the five DLC tracks.....>.>

  • @blueeyedwolf12 i mean this is sorry spelling fail :p

  • @aeropavore You probably already know, but it's now DLC for dissidia... and it's just as epic when using it to fight lol

  • @aeropavore A DLC came out that carried it.

  • @aeropavore You can get it as DLC. It's my preferred theme for playing with another piece of DLC, IE the monstrosity that made my level 99, maxed out final form Sora look like a joke.

    ...

    God, that's so much fun.

  • @aeropavore It is with an DLC, Google it! =D

  • @aeropavore I was wondering about that too. Maybe they thought it would steal Cantata Mortis' spotlight? Idk but I really miss this theme in Duodecim.

  • @aeropavore I know this is kinda late but they actually added they theme in Duodecim Dissidia for DLC the pack is like 0.99$.

  • I got an LSS hearing this line "Ragnarok de dies irae l'Cie Putis. Tuum fatum sequiris. Tuum sanctuarium affliegas"

  • Cocoon menas nothing to you!?

  • This...Is...EPIC!!!

  • I finished reading the lyrics and I remebered...

Dysley said them before his 2nd fight!

  • While barthandelus1, 2, and 3 raped my ass preety hard like over 10 times each this song got stuck in my head

  • for some reason i like listening to this.

  • Epic song. :) Love the drums..

  • I listened to the piece a lot, but for the love of me the lyrics are quite hard to follow with the music. I can get fine with Ragnarok de Dies Irae l'Cie Pultis, but after that I get completely lost. Could you help perhaps?

  • @DukeLongfellow Yeah, here's a guide:

    0:29 Tuum fatum sequeris

    0:39 Tuum sanctuarium affligeas

    0:50 Per somnum aeternum

    0:53 Numen divinum dictus est

    0:59 Viator elamentabilis

and it repeats itself over again. If you wish to correct me on that, go ahead :)

  • @zeldafan101293 That's not quite right.

    0:22 Ragnarok

    0:25 l'Cie Pultis

    0:29 Tuum fatum

    0:31 Tuum sanctuarium

    0:36 repeat

0:52 Per somnum (unintelligible after that)

    0:56 dictus est

    0:58 viator

I think what's going on here is the song's actual sung lyrics are different from the official lyrics. This has happened on a few different FF songs in the past, although I can't recall which ones. It doesn't surprise me, personally.

  • @VisualCSharp Also, I should mention that there are lyrics at the very end of the song being whispered quietly. I've never seen anyone mention this, nor what the lyrics say.

  • @VisualCSharp I haven't made head or tail of the whispering at the end. Even the same version that I have on my ipod (which has much better clarity), I still can't figure them out. And actually, the words after "per somnum" are exaclty what the lyrics say, except Masashi Hamauzu tried to mush them all into like, what, two notes or something? So they are saying the words, just ultra fast and incomprehensible.

  • Divinity I and II are slightly better than this, IMO, but then, it's fitting for the battle you fight Barthandelus in. :)

  • doesn't "de Dies irae" actually mean "wrath of God"?

  • @LilCyco223 actually, "Wrath of God" is "Ira de Deus" in Latin.

  • @zeldafan101293 so it is saying "day of wrath"?

  • @LilCyco223

Yes. "dies" means "day" and "Deus" means "God" or "Diety"

  • @zeldafan101293 ok. thx 4 the info

  • @zeldafan101293 I thought "Dea" meant god in latin.

  • @squirlkingSUCKS No, "Deus" is the correct translation for "God" in Latin. I checked in my Latin-English dictionary, and with my choir director.

  • @zeldafan101293 Oh i was thinking of "Godess", woops.

  • @LilCyco223 Yeah, you're right around there. I've seen "Judgment Day" used as a translation for "Dies irae" in a number of places.

  • @zeldafan101293 uh, not really. It's "Ira Dei", or "Ira de Deo" in Latin.

Unlike French and Spanish, Latin has a case system, so to convey possession, you either use the genitive form of the possessor (Ira Dei), or if you want to use "de," use the ablative (Ira de Deo).

  • @zeldafan101293 i thought its ira dei

  • What other Final Fantasy music have Latin in it? Besides this and One-Winged Angel

  • @randomwordsable2 "Liberi Fatali" is the opening theme for Final Fantasy VIII, and that has Latin lyrics. I don't exactly know if there are other Final Fantasy pieces other than "One Winged Angel", or the Final Fantasy XIII music. Square is beginning to use the Latin choral work more, so it may appear more frequently in the future.

  • Oh and thanks for the translation, been looking for it ;)

  • @NintendoMage

You're welcome.I had the lyrics, but I don't like Google Translate too much, so I had to use some of my knowledge of singing some Latin in Choir, and used books.

  • I wish my 2 years in Latin class did me any good. I got a messed up teacher...

I love how Square Enix uses Latin in a lot of their boss battle themes, It is so great and it creates that feeling which matches the situation perfectly, along with the storyline. Great Piece. :)
