I was at Portree, Isle of Skye, 3 months ago. Beautiful. I left Scotland Jan. 30, 2012. Longing to return in March, 2012. Love your pictures and Runrig.
always played this cycling home ,when i lived in aviemore from work,in the gloaming with the moon rising ,i saw the reek rise as folk had their peat fires on ,sends shivers up the spine as it was so beautiful a sight
When I was serving in the army, we used to play Runrig all the time (20yrs ago) and this song used to get such a sing-song going as we headed back to Scotland on the train.
One of the best days of my life was mid-summers night 1991 at Balloch - was anyone else there?
Damn, if I hear this song I want to go back to Scotland. Take a boat to Newcaslte, take the A96 through Jedburg, Edinburg, then to Glasgow, Loch Lomond, Glencoe, Fort William, Ratagan, Skye... Done that trip many times always listening to Runrig. Especially this song. Beautiful.
@stormer4ever From arrival in Newcastle upon Tyne to Skye would take about 12 hours (including breaks) and about 500 pounds on petrol (I've got a Bentley which doesn't run cheap).
@DrRClavan 12 hours? well, that's plenty of time ta get to know ya! LOL A Bentley? not too shabby and what's a few piddly 500 pounds..pocket change :) Pound to US dollar= over $750 it's all to "life life"-aye? AYE! cheers
@DrRClavan Can I come with ya? I first have to drive to Denver Inernational Airport, fly to Heathrow, take another flight to Edinburgh-will meet up with ya there! ok? ok! Guid............(I wish) My heart and soul Longs for Scotland more than anyone will ever know. With all I have been through, I MUST make the trip :)
@DrRClavan I typed "driving to Denver"........NO! It's a fast 20 minute flight from COS to DIA , then a 10.5 hour flight to Heathrow, customs (Never have done that before), then up and away to Edinburgh (what, about an hour or so? :) tell all those nasty storms to stop right NOW!
@DrRClavan maybe if ya 'drum up Mel's roar in Braveheart (and all the rest of the scots), that should chase those storms away....ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ALBA GU BRA (watching part of the movie right now, again)
@DrRClavan I will but I can't flippin understand Liam. I saw Rob Roy in the theater and he Mumbled his lines but he sure knew what to do with our Jessica! lol lusty steamy luv-making.....we want more of that...scottish style, of course ;) cheers (my friend was in all three movies actually) . Happy Holidays xxxxx
I think every day of Scotland, memories of my fisherman grandfather in Hilton on the Moray Firth making for me wee tin boats we'd launch on voyages of discovery across the bonny ocean,Albainn Gu Brath
@shonajw my great grandda was a fisherman , as chapter 8 of the book "My uncle George" shows he was a fierce defender of the Gaelic in Easter Ross. ,How I admire him, cleared from Sutherland , still full of Highland Pride, fighting to protect our Gaelic culture and language to keep it safe from harm for us. Uisdean MacAngus , Alexander MacAngus ,Annie Tarrel MacAngus, You filled my heart with pride Albainn gu Brath
Wow beautiful simply beautiful:)Ta for sharing:)..This song really makes me want to be back so badly within the Highlands and Scotland it will forever be my "TRUE HOME" where my heart and soul truly belongs:)I got goose bumps listening to this song because it brought back all my beautiful memories of being in Highlands and Scotland.I will be back one day soon and it will be my forever home:).The best most beautiful precious things in life that means the most we have to work the hardest 4.xxx
