Take off the nos supercharge that ls an see just how infair it is. This is point taken of top performance factory cobra vs lightly modded z.not even an ss. The ls motor is just all around nasty.alot like the 2jz jist let the monster breathe
@IDontHateOnCars the term "all motor" is wrong. If you say I have an all motor mustang it should mean no supercharger or turbo. A supercharger isnt all motor. Or am I wrong on what all motor means?
@Vettes4lyfe two totally different type of V8s.16v pushrod V8 vs DOHC V8. You shouldn't compare displacement here. A 6.2 LS3 weighs less and is dimensionally smaller than the 4.6 or tivct 5.0. The LS7 7.0 weighs the same as the 5.0. Motortrend did a small article a while back stating that an engine (performance wise) should mainly be based on "hp/lb" and "power band" NOT displacement. To many people just look at liters/hp and nothing else. GM had a great OHC (imo better than ford) but killed it

Seen a header and exhaust only ls1 with 3.89 gears beat a 03 cobra like this one ima go find it.
I use to drive an fbody, it was a thirdgen fbody but an fbody nontheless, as far as handling it was much more worst than the 94 mustang gt i drive now, you know what i dont even know why i said something agains the camaro in the first place since i love all muscle cars, fuck it if i could right know i would want an ls1 maro or bird but if its not ls1 i dont want it, lt1 and L98 were good motors but i prefer the 5.0 302 ford. But yeah Ls1 or LS series engines are the best pushrods v8s .

@nickthastick To be fair, the 03 "Terminator" Cobra came out halfway through the 2002 model year, so the 02 SS was still for sale new and still being produced at the same time the 03 Cobra was sold. But a good driver in a 96-01 Cobra will do fairly well against a good driver in an 98-02 SS or Z28. Some might win, some might lose. Those year engines were wild all over the place. Some made 250whp, some made almost 300. That's the problem with hand-built engines.

And yes the 02 SS/ T/A's where for sale, but they stopped producing F-bodies on Aug 25th 2001, spliting hairs i know, but they were not making them in 02. @luvscience44 If a mustang is just a mustang, then what's a camaro besides a follower? Camaro wouldn't exist without the Mustang. And 98, 99, 01 are close years for the Cobra vs SS. GT, not so much, sure. 2000 the Mustang was MUCH faster than the Camaro. 2002 there was no cobra, but the 03 "Terminator" came out very early, halfway through the 02 model year as an 03 model.
@luvscience44 you're right, but Ford had gotten back. They have owned the market from 02-10 when the Camaro came back. The Camaro can't run with the new 5.0 Mustang. The 6 cylinder Mustang outruns the 6 cylinder Camaro and even when GM put's out the ZL1 next year Ford has already answered with the 2013 GT500 making 650 horsepower. GM did own Ford in straight up races for a long time. But the new 5.0 is awesome and right now I'd give the edge to Ford all the way.
@ModernMuscleHead its merely a weight thing. camaro SS that weights around 3850 does damn good for the "stock" 425hp it puts out.... giving up around 250lbs to the GT (its a driver's race at the strip). GMs 3.6 V6 actually puts out alittle more than the mustangs 3.7 V6. The ZL1 is gonna put down crazy numbers for a 580hp 4100lb car... but again the GT500 has a 300lb advantage. GM will counter... the Gen V V8 is 1yr away. Both are awesome, but like you, i give the edge to ford at the moment.
@Texarmageddon cobra r weighed over 3500 lbs ,corvette weighed under 3200 lbs. Cobra r was $24,000 more than camaro. They weren't any comparison with the camaro. Ford went after corvette and viper. Cobra r did make more power than a zo6 but it wasn't faster , close though. Bad ass car i dream about the cobra r all the time.

The camaro is probably a 100 pounds or more lighter than the cobra and to me seems more aerodynamic so evan if the camaro wasn't full of nos if it had the same power as the cobra it will have more torque, thats an ls1
@luvscience44 a roots style supercharger broadens the torque curve and can maintain a higher amount of torque over low medium and high rpms. the camaro may make a few lbs more but it will be at 4500 rpm and its torque curve will be spiked. just a heads up on the difference
@luvscience44 also the 100 shot of N20 would never allow this camaro to run like that at a track and the stang is capable of that performance all day long while the camaro would blow his bottom end. also a pulley swap would easily allow this cobra to pull on the camaro N20 or not. besides n20 is a cheap and stupid way of adding performce

One thing though they will eventually heat soak and that is a big power loss, and the camaro was just under 2 cars back off spray.But my point was to the people on about the nitrous being un fair there both putting out about the same hp,but the camaro is just always going to have the more torque because the displacement, also being lighter than the mustang a few 100lbs, both running forced induction so the power add is equal.

I have to concur with mangekyouuchiha88 The Cobra's weight for 03/04 Cobra is as follows Coupe 3665 lbs. / Convt. 3780 lbs. This is direct from Ford's Spec sheets. GT Coupe weighed +/- 3280lbs, V6 +/- 3115lbs. The 03/04 Cobra is also heavier not just from the IRS, but from the Iron block that Ford went back to. Previous year Cobras (96-01) Were all aluminum.

I don't care if the 03-04 Terminator Cobras aren't the quickest of cars, I still love them. I'd take one over any other modern car, with MAYBE the exception of a 2012 GT500 SS or a 2012 Boss 302. I know what they are, I know what they can do, and I'd still take one over a Porche, Lambo, Aston Martin, or anything else. I don't care if that sounds stupid, I think they're fucking awesome.

So they supercharge the mustang to(Terminate) a camaro ended in production a year before. What a big accomplishment. Still i like the 03 Cobra's very much and will eventually try to own one no doubt. However its still a mustang and will always be a mustang it will be the only one i'd ever buy. I did own a 95 gt with 18,000 miles, it was a family members I sold it. I did like that car

@luvscience44 If a mustang is just a mustang, then what's a camaro besides a follower? Camaro wouldn't exist without the Mustang. And 98, 99, 01 are close years for the Cobra vs SS. GT, not so much, sure. 2000 the Mustang was MUCH faster than the Camaro. 2002 there was no cobra, but the 03 "Terminator" came out very early, halfway through the 02 model year as an 03 model.

@luvscience44 you're right, but Ford had gotten back. They have owned the market from 02-10 when the Camaro came back. The Camaro can't run with the new 5.0 Mustang. The 6 cylinder Mustang outruns the 6 cylinder Camaro and even when GM put's out the ZL1 next year Ford has already answered with the 2013 GT500 making 650 horsepower. GM did own Ford in straight up races for a long time. But the new 5.0 is awesome and right now I'd give the edge to Ford all the way.

@ModernMuscleHead its merely a weight thing. camaro SS that weights around 3850 does damn good for the "stock" 425hp it puts out.... giving up around 250lbs to the GT (its a driver's race at the strip). GMs 3.6 V6 actually puts out alittle more than the mustangs 3.7 V6. The ZL1 is gonna put down crazy numbers for a 580hp 4100lb car... but again the GT500 has a 300lb advantage. GM will counter... the Gen V V8 is 1yr away. Both are awesome, but like you, i give the edge to ford at the moment.

@luvscience44 a roots style supercharger broadens the torque curve and can maintain a higher amount of torque over low medium and high rpms. the camaro may make a few lbs more but it will be at 4500 rpm and its torque curve will be spiked. just a heads up on the difference

One thing though they will eventually heat soak and that is a big power loss, and the camaro was just under 2 cars back off spray.But my point was to the people on about the nitrous being un fair there both putting out about the same hp,but the camaro is just always going to have the more torque because the displacement, also being lighter than the mustang a few 100lbs, both running forced induction so the power add is equal.

I have to concur with mangekyouuchiha88 The Cobra's weight for 03/04 Cobra is as follows Coupe 3665 lbs. / Convt. 3780 lbs. This is direct from Ford's Spec sheets. GT Coupe weighed +/- 3280lbs, V6 +/- 3115lbs. The 03/04 Cobra is also heavier not just from the IRS, but from the Iron block that Ford went back to. Previous year Cobras (96-01) Were all aluminum.

I don't care if the 03-04 Terminator Cobras aren't the quickest of cars, I still love them. I'd take one over any other modern car, with MAYBE the exception of a 2012 GT500 SS or a 2012 Boss 302. I know what they are, I know what they can do, and I'd still take one over a Porche, Lambo, Aston Martin, or anything else. I don't care if that sounds stupid, I think they're fucking awesome.
