It is made to take an extra band thats why there is a space next to the other band! The extra band does not make the gun less accurate! It does have more kick, which if not properly held or lack of experience can affect the accuracy. All guns have more kick with more bands... its just a part of life! If anyone expects to get close to the full reach and potential of this gun they should get an extra band. you do not have to load both bands if you don't need both. Speed kills weary fish!!!
I have that gun. its a great and accurate gun! You didn't mention the ability to add an extra band to increase performance. That is a great feature! Great gun!
@dirtrider1092 The manufacturer doesn't recommend an extra band - may reduce accuracy.. There is not a lot of room for the extra band either - has it affected the accuracy of the gun for you? Would be good to know....glad to hear you like the gun!
@tonyel120 These guns are pretty good for loading - the butt pad at the end makes it so much easier to load. The Lightning 22 is the smallest of the lightning range...making it the easiest to load. Personally I found the 26 very easy to load in the water...I am used to loading bigger guns but I am not a big guy (6ft...180 pounds fit). Hope this helps...
