@alohaoz If you want the Chinese workers to be paid more, why don't you start a company, invent a product, hire Chinese factory workers and pay them a lot of money to build it. Then you can draw the exploited workers away from Foxconn and create a more just world. You can raise the standard of pay in China by being a better employer. Just don't cheer on illegal activity that will have no impact on the continuing exploitation.

@alohaoz What makes you think that the Sophone workers are treated any better or exploited less than Foxconn's workers?  For the price that Sophone is selling, I can safely guess that less wages and employee compensation is provided. Supporting a shady manufacturer may go against your noble goal of improving Chinese standards of living.

This is why China will never be great. 

Anytime anybody does something creative, the Chinese will pirate it, and make it cheaper/lesser quality; The Chinese have lost their inventiveness, reduced to blatantly copying superior stuff in a cost cutting manner.

This is an insidious problem, which is ultimately self destructive.

China will no longer 'invent' anything, as they know another Chinese will steal/copy it; The only advances will come from foreign partners; This will doom them...

Do you understand that there are well over 1,000 million people in China who has there wages below 200$/month? This product's target market is not meant to be completing with the original. How would you expect a person buying an iphone with their wages well below the price of an iphone? No body is dooming us. Except US economy is going downwards.
