I have raised three wild baby rabbits - my neighbors would bring them one way or another.I would release two into the wild when they were good to go. I put the third in my backyard, which has big hole under it and my other three rabbits running free within the backyard. That wild one lived there all summer, then dissapeared at fall, then kept coming back for food and water all winter. He would not let me close to him,but was ok with me walking by near.ANd he appreciated the food and water.
@Zairron In america they are wildlife. you guys have the european version wich is a pest. we have cottontails, which are not. sadly there are ignorant people over here that will kill them anyhow in a heartbeat. @ OP I have rescued babies too, and released them. & mys sisters property is loaded with lots of wild bunnies.
yea.. my dog just dug up a small den of baby bunnies while the mama bunny was away... luckily my mom stepped in before he could get at them.. but we went around, picked them up and put them back in the den. I hope they're alright.
@CritterCampMom I certainly hope so. I've heard that just by touching them, Kramer could have got their smell on the bunnies, and if that's the case that mommy bunny will just abandon them. I've never been sure if this was actually true, or understood why that would be the case if it were true
Thanks for posting this he or she reminds me of the one I raised when he was just as small if not smaller. He lived for about 5 years. The resemblance is uncanny. They grow up really quick. So enjoy them while their small. They usually grow up not trusting humans. Mine never once trusted me came near me but usually backed away.
LOL, wow, that brought back memories from when I was a little girl on a farm. Back then there were NO resources. So I had to try to rescue them and without proper access to info about diet, etc. Sadly, of course some wild animals just didn't thrive with me. But the bunnies ... ALWAYS did. Lol. So when the cat had something screaming, once I looked down and saw it was a teensy bunny, I always breathed a sigh of relief, cause I knew I could help it.

How long have you had them?
I just rescued one from my cat the other day.
His eyes are open and ears are up.
Hes not harmed, but I was wondering how long have your bunnies survived.
