  • I nid help for my iphone 3gs , i have the backbeat is just that it wont connect !

  • Is there a difference in the 903 verses 906 versions other than the adapter thingie? Thank you!

  • i got the new plantronics 903+ but i am not able to pair it,,,,its not detecting,,,what am i suppose to do now??

  • @utuburocks dude read the manual, you have to press and hold the on button until it flashes blue and red, then you can pair it to any other device, it happen to me before, i didnt know, but i read the manual, thing that i didnt do before and boom, it pair to my devices, bye bye now i hope i helped

  • i just bought the 903 and it connects to my ipod touch 2nd gen fine but my ipod doesnt detect the mic, can you help me?

  • I had no problem skipping tracks forward, But you do have to HOLD the rocker forward. I did, however have some problems with sound quality, ie skipping/jumping, but that was fixed when I updated my iPhone software to the latest version. Anyway, I ramble, great video

  • does it work for laptops?

  • Does it have a mic so I can talk into it? I wanna use it for like my PS3 or something

  • nice review can you help me? i have a OMNIA SAMSUNG my backbeat has already connected to it ..i just disconnect it so that i can use it on my iphone4 but iphone cant search for this device.. any suggestion sir

  • @kenjan2911 try turing the bluetooth for the samsung off and then search for it on the iphone.

  • I just bought the 903 model, so far, they're great. Very confy and with quite good music quality. All functions work perfectly with my SE W595. I certainly hope that they'll last for long time. I recommend it for anyone.

  • Have you tried the jaybird 200 if you have compared the two what would you say is better in sound quality, battery life and bluetooth connection?

  • idoes it work with ipod touch 3g (which has bluetooth) without the adapter?

  • I bought them and have been using them for some time now with much enjoyment. Now however my power button seems to be a little glitchy. Its no letting me turn them on any more. Any tips? Or do you not have yours any more?

  • @Freelyx Freelyx i have the same problem man and i dont know what is the cause. i began to think it was because sweat got into it because i mainly used them for running but im really not sure. I really liked them and the fit was great too bad they didnt last. i just purchased the new motorola s10-hds today so stay tuned for a review video

  • will the multipoint allow for sharing the device between an iPod and a phone?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheA7md2009 if ps3 has bluetooth capability, it will work

  • @6spdtls it should

  • @6spdtls I'm sure it also needs to be A2DP bluetooth compatible too. I can't tell you if it is or not...

  • The new iPhone IOS 4.1 claims to enable the track forward/back (AVRCP) capability.

  • Would you recommend these altec lansing / plantronics backbeat 903 or the Plantronics Voyager 855 to be used at the gym... two main issuesfor me are, how well the 855 will stay in my ears... i wont be thrashing around to much at the most possibly doing chin ups or sit ups with them and which of the two have better sound isolation? looks like the 855 will isolate better but not sit tight while the 903 may be the oposite

  • The next version of IOS 4.2 is supposed to enable a lot of BT functions. Unfortunately, IOS 4.2 will only work on devices that are able to use 4.0. However, there is a jailbreak for the 3G that is supposed to unlock version 4.0. I suspect full support to Plantronics because they make some of the best headsets out there.

Another thing you could use the 906 for is Skype and Google Phone. I haven't tried it yet, but it is on my list.

Good review for the this product, thanks.

  • @Bryeds lol I know! I didn't know if that was just a regional thing caz I'm like I'm from the south and we don't say it like that

@Mariaelia210 yeah mine is doing the same thing! It just keeps searching and nothing happens on screen!

  • did you really just say bass boost - like the fish? really??!!

  • when making a phone call do you hear the other person in both ears have seen else that you may only hear in one ear for the phone is that the case

  • Does the skipping track / forward button work with blackberry series 9000 ?

And how much is the battery standard life ?

I want to buy one of those so want to be clear, please!

  • i just boght the 903 and i am starting to really like them. the skip song function works with my kyocera phone.

  • I cant seem to connect it to my iphone 3G. I cant find the adapter for it and I do like it says to connect by pairing it without it but it still doesnt work. My phone says searching for device but it just does it for 5+ minutes! Any ideas why and how I can get it to work?

  • Hi, Thanks for the review, I seen someone else ask, if these will work with apps etc. and whats the difference, if any, in the plantronics and altec lansing branding?

    Thanks again.

  • Skipping tracks is very important, so do you think there is an alternative product?

  • @anubis1405 what kind of device are you using ? these headphones are capable of skippin tracks its the iphone that is hindering its full capability

  • @yellojacks3 : It is completely compatible with iphone 4.....i using them.....the skip function works fine.....:)),......great headphones

  • @anubis1405 It will probably work if you use the phone's bluetooth instead of the Headphonejack one

  • i got some of these and i love them but i cant figure out the next/previous song button i hold it forward but it doesnt work. the rest of the buttons work fine just not that. i am using an ipod touch 2g 8gb 3.0 with backbeat 906 headset + adapter

  • as i said in the video apple has not enabled this bluetooth profile (avrcp) so they will not work for skipping tracks

  • even if i use the adapter?

  • Go to Plantronics web site, and download the user manual. its will tell you ALL about your new backbeats..I got mine in a different package with no instructions. But everything works so I got a good deal..

  • I just bought these and didnt get the adapter or manual! They are not being found by my phone like you showed. I have a Samsung Finesse. My phone found my regular headset just find, but it had a pairing button... im not finding one on these, can you help!!!

  • Nevermind, i guess it wasnt charged enough, lol

  • i have the newest ipod touch 8g and will these work for music?

  • @lego5engineer i believe so but i dont think you will be able to use them to control the music

  • will i need an adapter for them or will they connect through built in bluetooth?

  • @lego5engineer almost positive. Apples site says second gen ipod touch

  • if my PC has bluetooth is there anyway to get them to work with the PC????

  • @BloodMoney21186 yeah i guess you would just have to pair them like you would with any normal BT headset...im not sure about the mic capabilities tho

  • @BloodMoney21186 im listening to this video with my 903 connected to my toshiba laptop. it sounds pretty good.

  • do you really need the little adaptor so your bluetooth can work with your phone or is the adaptor just to make like an mp3 player bluetooth or what is it for???

  • no you dont need the adapter it is for devices wiht 3.5mm jacks that dont have bluetooth functionality

  • About how long does it take to get a full charge on the headset battery? Also how sweat/water resistant are they? And finally, you said you hooked them to your computer, can you use them for Ventrillo/Skype type chat programs?

  • it takes about 2-3 hours to get a full charge...they are pretty sweat reisitant i ahvent had any problems with sweat unlike my moto s9's...i have tried to use them on a caht service and they dont work with the adapter i believe the adapter is just meant for stereo. my pc does not have bluetooth but im pretty sure the mic should work if they are connected to any bluetooth...

  • Great reveiw man! Thanks!

Any idea how the distance is with these? Meaning, if I have my iPhone in my front jeans pocket will the head phones still work our will they cut out? (I saw a review of the jaybird and they said they cut out a lot when in their pocket)

  • thanks!!! im glad you enjoyed it . indoors they are great i get about 20-30 ft depending on the room but they are not good for running outside and keeping it in your pocket because they break up every couple of seconds...my remedy is using my armband if i do go out for a jog but they are not great (all bluetooth devices work better indoors because they have walls to bounce off of)... the actual reciever is on the left side so i try to keep it on the left side of my body when Im using it...

  • Awesome! Thanks for the tips.

  • Hey man, thanks for this great review ! do you have any idea if the microphone built in this device can be used with a voice recognition software on a computer ?

    Merry Christmas !

  • not sure never tired that sorry

  • Thanks for the review! Can you tell something about whether they are comfortable when running or working out?

  • they are great working out can barely even feel them...they barely move and turning up the volume is very easy to do as well...any more questions ?

  • Nope, I think I know enough! Thanks again for the video and the nice and quick response!

  • FANTASTIC review!

How do you use them with the playstation 3??

  • i dont have a ps3

  • You have to pair them with the PS3. Same as you would with any other Bluetooth device. Go into the Bluetooth settings in the PS3, after you hit the pair button on the headphones, they'll show up under the PS3 Bluetooth devices.

  • Yep,that's a good option, but do you know if it's possible that when (if) Apple does make that available, it might be as an update of the iPhone I own, or will I have to wait for the next generation? Is the Motorola HDS9 FULLY compatible? Thanx 4 your time

  • Hey there yellojacks3! Thanks for this vid, I just got the 903 and was more than a little concerned about the "forward and back" feature when listening to music. They really sound good but I guess I'll have to stick with whichever song is playing or reach for the phone and skip it. Thanks again for your info!

  • no problem, until apple enables the iphone with that profile the only sort of fix would be to enable the shake to shuffle feature...

  • does it work with IPHONE 1st gen.?

  • i dont think so but i might be mistaken imnot sure if the update allowed the 1st gen iphone stereo bluetooth capability

  • hey yellojacks, just posting to let everyone know that the last two firmware releases for the iphone, 3.1 and 3.1.2, make the iphone compatible with AVRCP, which, for all of those who arent tech junkies and have no idea what im talking about, means you can listen to your music on the headset.

  • The headset that comes with my phone is at the same time as the radio mast, do you know if this headset works as radio mast?

    Thanks

  • Hi yellojacks3, I would like to know if it works with Nokia 5610, and where I kan buy this divise

  • idk if the phone has bluetooth compatibility it will work you can find it on newegg or amazon

  • do they work with the ps3

  • i dont have a ps3 so i wouldnt know but if it does have bluetooth comaptibility im pretty sure it should work

  • It works great with the PS3

  • Heya yellowjacket3, thanks for the review! have you seen or tried the motorola s7-hd? just curious

  • i havent seen them personally...but they look like they would be to clunky on my ears

  • hey whats up yellowjack3 good review, i want to get the backbeat 903 but i have heard already in another video and in cnet that people are complaning that it dies cuz the battery dies fast . i like these better than the j birds so after 2moths since this video do they still work good? do u still recomends theM?

  • no i dont think so...i purchased both the 903 and 906 headsets from altec lansing and interestingly enough the "906" head set is stamped backbeat 903. The only difference is that the 906 comes with an adapter. Both of the headsets are AVRCP capable it depends on the device that you are using...ie my blackberry supports this feature of changing tracks directly from the headset because it has that specific bluetooth profile the iphone does not...both models are identical

  • hiall just ordered AL 903 had jaybird 200i utter crap uncomfy poor BT conection avoid at all cost £79.99 for the JB200 what a scam

  • quit with the "um", what are you 5?

  • What kind of range do you get on them? Do they cut off alot? How long do the battery last if your just playing music from your ipod touch?

  • i get about 20-30 feet, depending on the obstacles that are around me. the only time they cut off is when i take a jog out side. they never cut off in the gym but my guess is that the bluetooth has walls to bounce off when indoors...the battery of the headphones last about 6-7 hours. i myself dont have the 2g ipod touch so im not sure how long that battery lasts..

  • i'd like to plug the Bluetooth audio adapter that is included with the 906 model to my regular telephone and also connect the headset to my iphone so that when i receive a call from either the cellphone or the landline i can pick up from the headset. Is that possible?

  • Honestly mate, you're saying bäss and bāss as though they're 2 different things. Unless you're speaking of the fish, then please say bāss.

  • okay..?!?! it was a mistake and i didnt feel like doing the whole vid again...im pretty sure you didnt think i was talking about a fish...

  • iphone has A2DP..... who's really going to plug in the adapter?

  • well i didnt really buy it to use it with my iphone it was more so i could use it with my pc...but since i was reviewing it i just decided to see what the difference was...i actually prefer it because it wastes less battery and i am able to control the volume...

  • The deal breaker is that you cant skip tracks.

  • Well it will be a deal breaker for any Bluetooth Headphones.

On the iPhone, Forward and Back will not work on any Bluetooth Headphones

  • Is it even possible to skip tracks back and forth using bluetooth, or am I just waiting in vain?

  • Let me clarify.

    Yes it's a Plantronics/Alteclansing's charger.

But the connector that plugs into headphones is a USB connector called "Micro USB".

    Google it =D

  • ahh okay i see...i said that its not mini usb but that it belonged to plantronics which is wrong i gotcha...thanks tho ill add an annotation :)

  • Update your video.

Micro USB is not proprietary to Altec Lansing.

  • i clearly say that its not a USB its plantronics/ alteclansing's own charger

  • How long does the battery last?

  • 6-7 hours....i listen toit from 8 -5 on and off and i havent had it die on me at work
