- A contract protects me from clients getting the work done and running away without paying. It's also a guarantee for the client that I will provide the work described in the contract. No serious professional would provide SEO work without a contract (although I agree that there shouldn't be ridiculous timelines like 6 months mentioned in the contract).

- Some clients after a while think they can do SEO themselves as it seems "not that complicated" & they want to stop paying me and take over. Their ranking might go down. I shouldn't be held responsible if I did get results but they're not ranking anymore because they wanted to save money.

3hatsmarketing (dot) com has done wonders for my site! i'm on the first pages for my top products using BigCommerce as my shopping cart! seo is definitely worth it! cheaper than google adwords in the long run.
