Wait... why isn't the BET considered racist? The only criteria for anything shown on there is that there's at least one black person in it and that it appeals to the black community. I don't know if anyone else knows this, (it hasn't been mentioned...) but, "magic negro" is a term used in film for a fellow of African decent who comes out of nowhere in the plot and saves all of the other (typically white) characters.
The song refers to this concept of Obama coming out of nowhere and "saving the white people". The phrase is VERY suited for the way in which it is used in the parody.

As much as I despise Rush, referring to Obama just by his race could be considered as racist. Contrary to Rush's "insight", Obama has much more class than to bring race into important issues. While he certainly has had the opportunity to do so (Harvard professor being arrested by white policeman) be brought both together and worked it out. I would rather have a President that brings together other than divides. This President has more class and intellect we have seen in many years.

You are an African American if you are the first-maybe second-generation of your family who came from Africa to America. Most black families in America have been here since they were enslaved hundreds of years ago, so by now they should just be considered Americans. I don't go around calling every white person I see a "European American", after all.

I have to listen to Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson refer to white people as "Whitey" and the "White MAN", I can take Obama being called a magic negro. After all he is only half. I guess it would be appropriate to refer to him as half black or a half white man.
