alright here's the story of electronic, i trained at fort sill, and it varies by battery, and even by platoon. we were allowed cell phones for like 10 minutes in redphase, 20ish in white phase, and in blue phase sometimes an hour. you can bring your laptop...but honestly i would just leave it at home until family day for ait. our battery sucked so we didn't get many privileges. i've heard at other places you have to do pushups to get things back,but it's ~200 for a bagpack. varying by value
