  • Wonder who won that game? XD

  • Talk about shoving it in the Kings faces.......they got a standing ovation for scoring a point. Ha ha ha.

  • The next morning the headline on the sports page of the now defunct Los Angeles Examiner read, "The Lakers 4-Give and 40-Get". I still have the news paper.

  • 04:20, what a shameeeeeeeeeeeee OH MY GOD... I was on KINGS place I would leave NBA after this

  • Took a Louisville Cardinal to finally score for the Kings

  • now this is a blowout!!!!

  • thanks a lot for posting this, again.

  • Don't get me wrong, I'm thoroughly enjoying watching this beatdown. But where exactly Eddie Johnson foul anyone on the putback at 2:07? I think the refs were enjoying the tidal wave of points like everyone else.

  • unbelievable. a time where the lakers where likeable, and their fans ACTUALLY HAD CLASS. laker fans nowadays are fairweather fans, pathetic and classless.

  • @jabba212 The more things change, the more they remain the same. Another jealous fans who is envious of an iconic sports franchise and its fans. There's a shocker. Stop me if you have not heard that before. Dude, shake yourself. We Laker fans will try very, very hard not to lose any sleep over not being "likeable." The only thing more "pathetic" than reading the rants of another jealous basketball fan is like nothing at all. It must be a real bitch to be jealous and insecure, isn't it?

  • commentator said he would lose his house lol

  • 37 to 2, ladies and gentleman. If you're just tuning in, no, I haven't been using any of the squeezing of the grape.

  • just a note, Derek Smith and Jerry Eaves played for the '80 Louisville NCAA champ team. Billy Thompson played for the '86 team. I think Sacramento have a Louisvile thing going for a while with Eaves, Smith, later Ellison, and McCray

  • Thank you so much for posting this, I read about it as a kid, never got to see it.. What a bloodbath

  • LOL i am surprised no kings fan said this game was fixed LOOL

  • so what was the final score? and is this the record for lowest fg's in a quarter (in this case it was zero ) ?

  • I dont see the 2010 Lakers beating this squad. Scott cant guard Kobe. But who is is gonna guard Magic?! So Scott would score all day while Kobe/Artest double Magic. Plus they had Coop 2put on Kobe in crunch time. Worthy would have mauled Artest. Gasol could take Green offensively. But Green would punish Gasol on the boards. Magic would post Fisher all day. Elderly Kareem drawing Bynum out 15ft on the skyhook, plus boarding. Other than Kobe going off for 50+every game, 80s era Lakers pwn ANYONE.

  • Funny to see Magic all smiles and joking now. When that guy played, he was a no-mercy, assasin with those dimes. Same thing with Worthy. These guys were all business, but they made it so fun for the fans.

  • Man, players used to be skinny.

By the way, this is The Fabulous Forum, not Staples Center.

  • WOW!!! not a single field goal!!!!!

  • is that chick hearn announcing the game? he's great!

  • @WOCEinyourgrill that is the greatest announcer of any sport all time Mr. Chick Hearn aka goldenthroat who coined every phrase you know in b-ball....alley opp slam dunk etc...

  • Kings still suck, Lakers still great.

  • how was the final score of this game, please? thanks

  • COOOOOOOOP!

  • Queens got a standing ovation in staple center LOL...first team ever...

  • ummm.. this was at the forum. Staples wouldn't be built for another 13 of 14 more years... kid.

  • lol thats funny

  • I just happened to be in Los Angeles when this game was played but was unable to attend. The Los Angeles Herald sports page headline read, " Lakers 4-give and 40-get"

  • Why didn't the Kings try and get to the foul line lol

  • You need to appreciate the great sportsmenship the Lakers fans gave when the pethetic Queens made their first point. LOL

  • Calling them pathetic is pathetic on your part. Although they got slaughtered, they were playing one of the greatest teams ever. They were actually pretty talanted (Thorpe, Theus, etc.), but just didn't have teamwork or a good coach.

  • hahahahahaha blowout already like i said the kings suckkkkkkkk!!!!

  • :58 Magic Johnson was truly one of the greatest to play the game.

  • By the way (I doubt this will surprise anyone), this was Phil Johnson's last game as the Kings' head coach. The Lakers literally ran him out of California with this performance.

  • Does anyone know what the final score of this game was? Did the Lakers win by 70?

  • I was at this game. After the first quarter the rest of the game was tied 88-88........final score was 128-92.......

  • what was the final score of the game? i mean, forty points in the first quarter- thats no record, but its still a lot. 12 minutes into the game they were up by 36 points!

  • 128-92. I think you can figure out who won this one.

  • 99.9% Lakers

    .1% Kings

    Rounds up to 100%

  • lol the refs call a technical foul on the kings when they are down 28-0?

  • geez, I wish ESPN Axis was around for some of these Showtime Laker plays. they'd have a field day with them!

  • The folks at SportsCenter would be running around trying to put a Top 10 together.

  • I had no idea they only got their points from the line. NO FIELD GOALS ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

  • This happened again in 1997 against the Mavs. LA held them to 2 pts in a quarter, both at line. It was a generous whistle at that, right at the end of the quarter. I believe that another team had since tied the record of 2 pts.

  • I had heard about this game years ago, and I never thought I'd see it in action. Absolute domination. Twenty years later, the Dallas Mavericks would break the Kings' (and two other teams') dubious record by scoring two points in the third quarter. Ah, futility.

  • Wow, didn't realize they had 0 FG made in that quarter!

LOL, when the crowd gives the VISITING team a standing ovation for making an FT!

  • LOL! Fuck you Suckramento Queens

  • Good job Suckramento!

  • Awesome, thanks for the upload. I love old Chick broadcasts. Never knew about this game.

  • Been waiting decades to see that again. That's the basketball I know , good work !!

  • ah the 87 Lakers team! one of the best!

  • The '87 Lakers team is considered by many as the greatest team to ever take the basketball floor. That was basketball ballet.

  • What was the final score for this game?

  • Lakers won 128-92, so they played to a draw after the 1st quarter.

  • None of the starters played 30 minutes, tho. The disparity between that years Lakers and Kings squads was pretty much as big as that quarter indicates, much worse than the one that exists between the current teams.

The Kings lost every single game they played at The Forum from 1975 to November '92.

  • All the way back when they were in KC-Omaha.

  • This is awesome!

  • This girl agrees:

    watch?v=KoEoUyUpQK8

  • HAHHAHAHAA thats funny thanks!
