Horror movies now are nothing like they used to be. Back then they would take the time to make a great movie. Now days they are rushed and only given a specific amount of time to make it.
So that is why they are doing so many remakes now and keep the classics alive.

Ok so I have to express my opinion on this. Two years of remakes? There hasn't been an original film fromHolywood in almost 20 years. Oh sure the odd one here and there, but there are so many remakes, rehashes, etc. And that's not counting movies made from comic books. Even Thomas Crown Affair was a remake. The Haunting too. Just about every movie was a remake, a bad sequel, a rehash, a reboot, or a "reimagining" :P All well.

At the rest: Well, some horror movies come out decent. Friday the 13th isn't bad if you're into a less gory version of Jason. And I kinda wanna see Nightmare on Elm Street Remake because it stays close to the original, at least that I've seen in the trailer. Only issue I have is that it's not being played by Robert Englund. That's gonna be a let down, but I can live with it.

They can't remake movies like Child's Play these days. Because SOME people sitting in the back of the theatre never shut the fuck up, and think scary moments are funny so they start laughing like hyenas.
Hollywood execs know the movie can sell more if it's based off an already popular franchise. Or maybe there are untalented writers and instead of putting hard work into their own idea or concept, they choose to take someone else' well thought out script/movie and hack it up.
I want them to re make stephen kings 'it', I watched it again the other day and it didn't have the same affect as before due to the plot holes and a major lack of seeing the scary stuff as the camera turns away etc etc.

thats very true, I hate it if i go to see a horror movie in the theatres and the people behind me are 5 year olds and the minute that anything exciting happens they scream like hell for the whole movie until my ear falls off! thats one reason why they shoudnt re-make movies like childs play...it would also be an insult to brad dourif xO

They can't remake movies like Child's Play these days. Because SOME people sitting in the back of the theatre never shut the fuck up, and think scary moments are funny so they start laughing like hyenas.

Hollywood execs know the movie can sell more if it's based off an already popular franchise. Or maybe there are untalented writers and instead of putting hard work into their own idea or concept, they choose to take someone else' well thought out script/movie and hack it up.

I want them to re make stephen kings 'it', I watched it again the other day and it didn't have the same affect as before due to the plot holes and a major lack of seeing the scary stuff as the camera turns away etc etc.

@nafen86, They're actually planning a remake of 'It'. One of the writers of the script said that they'll try to remain true to what made the book great. They said it might come in 2011.

Bride of chucky was funny! seed of chucky sucked cause tiffany played her self & they were filming a childs play movie within the movie, it was a bad idea.
