I was wondering, does Matt Damon do anything to address our problems here in the US? Many celebs can be found in other countries supposedly making a difference. All I see is their pretty faces taking a photo op to ask everyone to send THEIR money to help. Hopefully someone can refer me to a video of Damon trying to bring awareness to issues in the US...God knows we have plenty of our own problems. And please don't defend him if you can't do so.
Look at how the people in third world countries live. Ever think that they're in far more dire need for even the most basic of resources? The U.S. is in bad shape, but no where near that level of poverty.

Clean water just doesn't appear. It takes many skilled workers and millions of dollars to implement a clean water system in a community. Water treament centers, proper sewage equipment. Replacing of pipes and breaks are common and expensive. Scientists are needed round the clock to ensure water safety and check for water borne illnesses. Most water centers are closed or broken or unfunctional after a short time after building them in 3rd world nations. Economics is the only savior.

Clean water just doesn't appear. It takes many skilled workers and millions of dollars to implement a clean water system in a community. Water treament centers, proper sewage equipment. Replacing of pipes and breaks are common and expensive. Scientists are needed round the clock to ensure water safety and check for water borne illnesses. Most water centers are closed or broken or unfunctional after a short time after building them in 3rd world nations. Economics is the only savior.

I do believe that good works come through Christ and that humanity is innately selfish through sin. However, humanity is also created in the image of Christ, making them capable of doing good works. I don't understand what good comes from condemning a man for doing good, but doing good with a possibly poor motivation...

Damon could be motivated by both a sincere want to help the impoverished and the fact that it helps his career. It doesn't have to be all one or the other. And frankly, does it matter? If Christians waited until everyone was converted to offer help in the tsunami in Indonesia India and Thialand they never would have helped in the relief efforts for 99% of the people served were non-Christians and yet millions was raised and hundreds of Christian volunteers served..

The money comes from taxes. If your asking who "feeds" off this money, the simple answer is; lots of different people and groups. However if you want to know who "feeds" off it the most the answer is easily multi-national corporations who find loopholes and get bullshit subsidies.
Having problems with welfare is fine but I have a sneaking suspicion that you are giving it undue attention and falling into an old Regan-era talking point.

Matt Damon, great guy. But I think India should do more for it's own people rather than investing in space programs costing billions, imagine if India put the funding of the space projects into these slums what a massive difference it would make, instead of making bonified microcelebs in the form of astronauts who will probably not be on par to NASA or the Russian space agency.

The one world government thing is coming more true every single day now, it's quite scary.
Our Founding fathers created rules to stop this sort of stuff, but I guess they some what knew that they wouldn't hole up forever. Just continue this cycle. Greed takes over freedom independence. Independence and freedom takes over greed.

Federalized water makes it illegal to coolect rain water and the governement lays claim to all bodies of water. Got a pond in your yard. Not your yard any more.
