Porsche = better quality, lasts much longer, tradition in the design. Nissan = cheaper build, lasts much less, will look outdated soon. Think resale value too. The GTR was aimed at taking down the porsche. Porsche on the other hand does not build their cars to take down a Nissan haha. The GTR is a good car, give or take that one second, but taste, fun, quality and premium engineering will prevail. I wont find a button in a porsche, that i can find in my moms minivan. Not so sure with the Nissan.

How do u know it lasts longer? The gtr has only been out for a bout 4 years. Its too soon to know if it does or not. GTR won the award for Popular Science - Auto Tech Grand Award Winner, and Popular Mechanics - Automotive Excellence Awards 2008.
I think you missed my point. Classic and simplistic design lasts longer as it is not as tied to a specific time. Combined with good engineering it also keeps the resale value up. The Nissan is engineered very well, but there is no tradition in the design and its not very simplistic.Porsche cars are collectors item as the design and history gives it a stronger appeal and weight - they have nothing to prove. The Nissan looks good, but in 10 years will be seen like a toyota supra.

I think we both know that there are street cars that can beat it. Bugatti Veyron just to name one. If we are talking price, I agree. There is nothing in this price class which can beat it. Playstation is a term associated with technology and fun, but is still something that is not completely sophisticated. It gears towards a younger crowd. It is accepted to be a fan of movies at all ages, whereas playing playstation can be redicolous if you're a 57 year old CEO of a finance company.

The transmission issue is not "fixed ages ago", this is a fact because 2 days before my post i was in the nissan showroon awaiting some papers to sign to buy the GTR. Till i asked the question about the warranty and the transmission, where the sales man personally showed me where it states in the manual that using launch controll will void the warranty. All this GTR vs 911 TT carp is BS. When Nissan made the GTR they aspired to make a car that would match up with the 911 Turbo because quite frankly the Turbo is one of the best sports cars out there. They have even marketed the GTR as having "911 Turbo like performance for two thirds the price". So what, the GTR had a faster ring time, that doesn't make it in any way a better car. Porsche will always be leading while Nissan follows, and it will take them another 9 years to match the new Turbo.
The GTR's few honeymoon months are over. Its been thrashed by a new gen 2 GT3 and in three weeks the new PDK gen 2 997turbo will fuck it over again. Aw well ricers it was short lived.

first those test you are talking about was done by biased germany jounalist and not professional race drivers. the guy driving the gtr was a retired F1 driver. the fastest porsche at the ring is the 1/2 million carrera gt and its still 2 seconds lower than the gtr. nissan even offered to teach them how to drive a machine like a gtr because i guess germanys have never driven a car like a gtr that can be pushed harder than porsches. the new porsche turbo won't beat the gtr either.

They have even marketed the GTR as having "911 Turbo like performance for two thirds the price". So what, the GTR had a faster ring time, that doesn't make it in any way a better car. Porsche will always be leading while Nissan follows, and it will take them another 9 years to match the new Turbo.

The GTR's few honeymoon months are over. Its been thrashed by a new gen 2 GT3 and in three weeks the new PDK gen 2 997turbo will fuck it over again. Aw well ricers it was short lived.

Quit the personal comments for a start, well this so called dweed could buy a 1000 Gtr's with his loose change so up yours for a start. Being as though Porsche bought a GTR and couldnt get anywhere near the times quoted by Nissan. The new GT3 has blown the GTR around the ring already. The GTR was only quicker because of its double clutch gearbox. Now its even at the end of the month when Porsche launch Gen 2 PKD Turbo. I wouldnt care if the 911 was ten times the price of the GTR, id still buy it

Porsche name is class and people buy them for all hosts of reasons. For a start it must have been a good car for Nissan to try to beat it over all these years. If i turned up in a GTR to my clients they would think im one of the barry boys who sit on supermarket carparks chatting all night. I doubt you will see the Nissan beating the Porsche into next year. End of the day my Grandmother could drive a GTR, its like driving a PS3. I suppose our LP560 is crap too compared to your beloved GTR.

Information was a ring race. The GT3 has lapped quicker in a head to head than the GTR. Its obvious the latest 997 turbo launched this week is going to beat the GTR now its 3.8 and pdk. Its like for like now and it weighs 150kg lighter than the fat GTR. I'm not racist but all im saying is all the tests the japs did, they used sticky tyres and cranked the boost up. Porsche couldnt get anywhere near the time when they bought a GTR. I would say Walter Rohl knows the ring better than any GTR Driver.

A classic stylish, one of the most sort after brand names or a GTR which looks like a kitcar crossed with a PS3 and parts thrown at it for good measure. first those test you are talking about was done by biased germany jounalist and not professional race drivers. the guy driving the gtr was a retired F1 driver. the fastest porsche at the ring is the 1/2 million carrera gt and its still 2 seconds lower than the gtr. nissan even offered to teach them how to drive a machine like a gtr because i guess germanys have never driven a car like a gtr that can be pushed harder than porsches. the new porsche turbo won't beat the gtr either.

Funny, Being as though Porsche use the ring extensively, i would say it gives them more experience than most. Lets face it Nissan only made the GTR because of the Porsche Turbo. A Porsche RSR did the ring in 7.08. The turbo will beat the GTR, look how long its took Nissan to get there in the first place. The only reason the Nissan was slightly faster was due to its twin clutch gearbox. Now its equal.

You are saying, that Nissan should teach Porsche, the people who own the LeMans GT2 and GT3 class since the mid 60s-70s, to learn how to drive the GTR? At least with all Porsches, turning the traction controll off does not void the warranty....unlike the GTR.... I love all cars, and the GTR is really an engineering wonder, but there is a reason why Porsches cost what they cost today and the GTR so cheap....quality, and not just luxury quality, engineering quality!!!
