  • Very interesting

  • @johnatncsu Thank you for watching, I have more ice fishing videos comming, I just hope that eventaully the fish start to bite LOL. Thank you. Joe

  • This vid was really fun to watch, I don't know to much about ice fishing but it looks fun even if you didn't catch much but babies....lol...lol.....Thanks for sharing it was really interesting, I hope you do more!

  • @karenchakey Keren, I want to takle this time to thank you for all the kind comments and the fact that you watch, you are one of my favorite subscribers and I am happy to be subscribed to you, your comments are chreished. I have a couple more ice fishing vids and the next one I drive out on the lake, its always scary that first time bc no matter what, the ice is always cracking loud when you drive on the ice.

  • Now I see why you need so much ice with that truck LOL, Buddy that perch was bigger than all the ones I caught last year.

    Be safe out there

    God Bless

    Pete

  • @moparmanpete Thanks pete, I have driven on the ice now but went to a lake yesterday, my favorite down here and there were 60 trucks at the landing and only one car on the ice, I chickened out. That lake has NICE crappies, 15 inchers at times, I need to get out there but was too scared.

  • Neat set up. You're right this has been a non typical winter....wait....I don't think we have even had winter :) Bad thing is, we will have a large number of mosquitoes and wasps this summer is we don't get a good hard freeze. Enjoy your fishing.

  • @mammysinthekitchen Your right, this is a NO WINTER, which I like but at the same time Ice fishing is about all there is to do so I wish I could drive out more. and YES, kill the skeeters and although we need the bees to pollinate, they drive me nuts... lol Thank You so much for the comment. Joe

  • That is an awesome setup. Looks like a bunch of fun. Be Safe

  • Don't catch all the lunkers Joe:)

  • Cool Video Joe. I have to say though that your missing one key ingredient: Beer. Down here in Canada most guys go out to ice fish to do two things only: 1. Get away from the wife, and 2. Drink beer with the boys. hehe!

  • @charronfamilyconnect I was home by 6 and usually grab one at 7 LOL I want to build a fishouse thats a big pull behind, 8x20 that you stay in all night, then the beers will flow I assure you : ) Thank you for the comment. Joe

  • Did you rig those skis up yourself, or did it come like that? I've not seen those before.

  • @MiWilderness They came with it, it works great when needed but I like it better when I can drive out, I think thats only the second time I used them. I like that fish house.

  • @JoeandZachSurvival Thanks! I know a few folks who have a similar shanty, but none of them have skis and it can be a real drag in heavy snow getting them out there. That one looked like it slid quite easy. Those perch were HUGE btw. LOL! Pike bait! That's all I get here locally, dinks. We were supposed to go to Saginaw bay today, but it was a washout.

  • Congradulations On The Future Ex Wife, Some Guys Have All The Luck!! :)

  • As a city boy I have never seen ice fishing... VERY COOL. Love the pop-up hut. What kind of meat did you cook?

  • @jeffreylane7 Thank you for the comment, that was venison from the deer I shot during deer season, ice fishing is fun, its a world all its own, alot of the lakes here will have a sign planted at the launch where you drive out with a dominoes pizza add, they will deliver to your fish house, lol. I have ordered one before. Its a fun time. Thank You, Joe

  • wow, really cool setup! But you wouldnt get me on the ice, I am so scared of breaking through the ice since I was a kid. thank you

  • @alonewolverine1984 cmon Lillie, its fun and exciting, I know youd enjoy it : ).. Thank you for watching. Joe.

  • That is the coolest setup I have ever seen lol. Can you pop a treble hook through them perch and live bait them?

  • @HalfQ Its illegal in MN to use a game fish as bait, that said a treble hook does fit a perch quite well , LOL,

    nuff said.

    Thanks for watching.

  • Is that Zack's Mustang?

  • @void157 Thanks for the comment, no thats my future X wifes. Joe

  • Nice video come over to my channel and check out my ice fishing gear video's.Thanks for sharing.

  • Hi Joe, ...great lesson, fantastic equipment and setup! Thanks for sharing. Happy Sunday, Sepp

  • Thanks Joe for introducing me to ice fishing. I've always wondered about those shelters on the MN lakes, now I know that they are sleds that turn into shelters w/areas to put the holes. Those heaters you mentioned earlier sound pretty good, we're thinking about getting the buddy heater, but now I need to look into the sunflower heater. I hope you get to go to the lakes you like so you can get some serious fishing in, those little guys wouldn't do for my cat!

  • My almost future ex wife sounds kinda intriguing....

  • Do not drive on that please! This scares me... I know you are used to this but WOW I thought we did Crazy Stuff. You got us hands down! Now I kinda want to try it ... heater... snacks... quiet...Oh yeah!

    Linda:)

  • @255sage Linda, thank you for the comment, why dont you and hubby drive up and lets go drive on the lake LOL. Its something thats looked forward too all year long, this year sucks bc its been so warm but I do have a fishing vid upcoming where I drive out on the ice. And im still kicking. Thank You. Joe

  • @JoeandZachSurvival I'm sure He would love it! I will just stay back and make you Boys dinner. :)

  • @255sage Your a doll, but imma drag your ass out on the ice too. LOL. Thanks . Dinner sounds GREAT.

  • Nice setup!! Gotta love the Mr. Heater...Its kept me warm on some long days of ice fishing.

  • That's a really nice shelter for Ice fishing you've got there Joe. Thanks for sharing and Take Care my friend :-))

  • That ice shack is fantastic. How low can the outside temperature be where you can still keep it comfortable on the inside?

  • @mainear I have been fishing when its 20 below and the heater keeps it warm, when we fish all day I usually bring out my sunflower heater that puts out the same btu's that the buddy heater does but it sits on top of a 20 lb propane tank, the Buddy heater will go full about 4 hours but my sunflower type will go a couple days at the least. I am never cold simply because I know what heater I need. Thank you so much for the comment.

  • @mainear Thank you for the comment, i have been out at 20 below and its still warm, you need a high heater and a low so your feet dont get cold, or at least 4 propane 1 pounders for the buddy heater. Thank you. Joe

  • Hey guys, I watch your vids. I enjoy the hell out of them & really envy you guys. When I was younger I did at lot of camping upstate NY, then a whole bunch in my RV later on all over the country. I'm just too damn old & sick nowadays.

Question: Ever see anything "strange" out in country in the night sky?

(Yep, that's a serious question, I'm not jerking you around. I just got finished watching a documentary about cattle mutilations when saw this video post, so I thought I'd ask)

    Peace,

    -Grizz

  • @grizzzlyjoe Thanks Joe, there isnt any cattle up there but I do see many wolf/deer kills, and two years ago while out late night, my daughter and my my almost future x wife swear they saw a UFO, and not to be wierd but I do believe that they exist, even with God in the equasion, why would he creat a billoin galaxies able to sustain billions of planets and we are the only life forms??? lol.... No cattle mutilations, but its always interesting. Thanks. Joe

  • cool video, thanks for posting
