I really love the dark atmosphere while Maíréad plays Slumber My Darling... It seems so right for it. And The Mason Apron is awesome too ;) Does anyone too adore that subtle flirting walk to Ray and Nicky, starting from 2:54? Maíréad isn't only a fine fiddle player, but the way how she search contact with her fellow performances and give them credit as well makes her fantastic too.

I want so badly to like this song, but both tunes are far too close to other tunes she's done. The first one sounds almost identical to "Shenandoah" and the second sounds like "The Contradiction". Kinda unimaginative. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE Mairead. I mean, she's the reason I play fiddle, but I just think that they didn't try too hard on this one. I didn't even get chills or butterflies. =[

Her's is old and was made a violin maker who made violins longer than regular!

Mairead's violin was custom made by a friend of the family, who gave her the violin she plays. If you ask most people will tell you 4/4 is the largest violin made but that is obviously not true....

gaeilge101, Mairead's violin wasn't made by the friend that gave it to her, it was made in 1710 by Matheus Albin(there's different spellings).

Albin was a teacher of Antonio Stradivari.
