  • about 20 years ago i had the chance of assembling a set-up based on:

    - LINN (CD-Player+PreAmp)

    - 2 Burmester amplifiers in single-channel configuration (85.000,- DM each)

    - 2 Audiostatic electrostatic loudspeakers (19.600,- DM each)

in a building made of stone, steel adn glas. no concrete, no wallpaper, no drawall...nothing but stone, steel and glas.

  • after installing the whole set-up i searched for cd's to test drive it.

    i found :

    1. Sir Mix-A-Lot : The boss is back

    2. Roxette : Cinammon street

    3. Vaya Con Dios : Listen

    4. the one you are listening to.

  • i love roxette and vaya con dios. and sir mix-a-lot was wonderfull for demonstating the dynamic of the electrostatics at lower frequencies...

but Robert Palmer stunned the whole audience. (me included)

    R.I.P. ;(

  • ps: it should have been drywall (my fingers seem to cold to write)

  • Excelente!!

  • what a shame he is no longer with us as he was really a nice man

  • BTW, this is the pre-credit sequence of RP's ambitious, nearly hour-long "Ridin' High" video, released just after the CD, in late 1992. The fact that he chooses to make 'ARR. CLARE FISCHER' the 1st image we see (Fischer having arranged this & the majority of RH) reveals not only CF's centrality 2 this project, but the esteem in which he was held in the 70s, 80s, & 90s by many of R&B's's more harmonically advanced practitioners - e.g. RP, Prince, Chaka, Al Jarreau, the various DeBarges et al.

  • Baby makin' music!!! XOXO RP Miss you...

  • Magical....

  • he is and always will be, a simply beautiful, magical man

  • Oh it's sooo lovely. What a terrible loss... RIP Robert....

  • Close your eyes and just listen this song.

  • Wow, I had never heard this song before. I`ve always loved his jazzy performances... "Witchcraft", "Love is the Tender Trap", "Not a Word"...

  • I loved him,he left me,he let me be lonely.

He never knew that I loved him only. I became

lonely than happy with somebody else.

  • Love it, love it love it!

  • Wow! Buried treasure is worth the time and effort it takes to be uncovered. This is nice--real nice. It is so soothing!

  • RIP my man!!
