I have been listening to this song for sometime trying to get the nuances and everything down. I agree with Kirsty, to learn Spanish, you have to listen and get the lyrics down and that way, you learn to speak Spanish. It's like Rosetta Stone.. You learn to speak Spanish through the words and lyrics.

If anyone wants to learn Spanish, do what I do...learn how to sing to Spanish songs, I can sing most of Christina Aguilera's spanish songs and can sing Lo Que Soy by Demi Lovato...yet I can't speak a word of Spanish!

I think u r on the right track to learn spanish, just keep listening to music in spanish. Also try to find the lyrics of the song and try to sing along. I think that'll help u :) I know ur question wasnt directed at me but I wanted to help u out, Buena suerte! :D

Just so you know, Shakira doesn't sing in "Spanish" Spanish (castellano), she's from South America, so they have a lot of different pronounciations and words!

Words are really not different. We use them in a different way and they can be offensive in a country and very commun in other. I think most of the tips are right, but you have to be very careful of what kind of things you're listening and reading so you don't end up speaking funny like most english speakers do when they speak in spanish

@Lilibutter Whats that supposed to mean, man? Any person thats learning another lenguage speaks funny. When I started using English in a regular basis to try and get used to it, I spoke a weird spanglish xD Its normal, you just get used to using both lenguages eventually.
