When the Lakers walked into this series, most of the "experts" in the media picked the Spurs. The Spurs had won the regular season series 3-1, and many Laker fans (including myself) were concerned because the Lakers (even with Shaq) had a matchup problem with the Spurs 'twin towers" inside.

Bottomline: Spurs 01 were one the top teams. No one expected Kobe to have some of these monster games, and no one expected Derek Fisher (injured half the season) to suddenly everything from 3pt land.

A. Derek Anderson, the initial guy who was supposed to "stop" or "slow down" Kobe, was hurt and couldn't play da 1st 2 games.

2. Antonio Daniels was too slow

3. Sean Elliot wasn't quick enough(Example:Lookat1:03)

4. Avery Johnson, Terry Porter, and Steve Kerr were too short to keep up with Kobe.
