  • Hi Rich...I enjoyed your video very much.. I too like to incorporate octaves into my playing ... inspired very much by Wes.. never thought about some of the points you brought up and you have a very easy teaching style..... if you get a chance please check out my only video on Youtube...I'm playing an 1978 L5 that looks just like yours...just type in Jerry Twomey and it will come up.. the tune is Jobim's Wave... thanks very much...Jerry.. • Very slick !

  • What is Rich playing here ?

  • Thank you sir, this was the exact explanation that I needed to refine my octave technique.

  • Cool Jazz tone....quite stimulating

  • great relaxed teaching. very helpful, thx !

  • thanks man really really helpful

  • ibanez artcore Ak 85 - about £300 - tried loads of guitars up to £1000 - this sounded and played the best

  • @nuevoflor I have an AS73 art core and it is a great guitar.

  • Few people know that Wes Montgomery was actually a reggae guitarist. Good work, Rich, uncovering this secret!

  • @waldo2384

No he wasn't... Pretentious dick head.

  • @waldo2384 if wes was a reggae guitarist it means that you have no clue about who wes was

  • you are smooth and rocking at the same time... awesome!

  • check out Hofner's H5 it's a lot of guitar for $595.00. You can see them at the Guitar College web site

  • Thanks Rich.

  • Lovely lessons as usual Rich. What guitar and amp are you using? Do you have any recommendations for beautiful warm tone guitars at budget prices?

Hey ! I just bought a Vintage VSA-850 in white. It's actually a copy of the white falcon-model from Gretsch, but it sounds a lot better and at least fatter & jazzier.

I will soon post a video in which I recorded the guitar. Believe me : an incredible instrument. Hope this helps.

  • @piedyshaw Thanks for that. It will be good to hear it. I eventually bought the Hofner Verythin Contemporary. You can hear Rich play it on his bebop jazz blues lessons. A lotta bang for the buck or in my case for the quid (English pound). Take care.
