  • I've been looking for just something simple like this, than you.

  • Great job thanks for the tip! i gonne use this technique in my next hip-hop video.. Thx!

  • No need to say bad things to this man hes just trying to help imovie users

  • How do you stop the zooming? Also please the uploading video back up!

  • @legoguy36 turn ken burns off in settings!

  • Thanks this is awesome

  • 0.1 seconds isnt fast enough. it should a least be 0.05. As for the zooming, you need to select all, click the crop icon, and then click the fit button on the top left portion of the preview window. I suggest anyone making stop motion use another program and adjust your technique because this frame rate sucks

  • @TheChaseWD Problem is, iMovie doesn't go any faster. For the zooming thing, that was kinda shown in the video. For the last thing, what you said was not the point. The point is for people wanting to use iMovie 09 for stop-motion. So this comment is not needed.

  • @Spark5643 Problem is, you can read. Im saying DON'T use iMovie because it can't go faster than that. Some people are posting comments asking how to fix the zooming so I responded with the fix. Lastly, stop motion sucks unless you are getting 20+fps in.

  • @TheChaseWD Dude, you explained with words (harder to understand) when I explained with video. They just needed to watch it again. And for your last thing, for the people who wanted to use iMovie for stop-motion, let them. And also there are more "THIS HELPED SO MUCH :)" then complaints.

And lastly stop-motion doesn't suck unless to 20+ fps. 15 fps is great.

  • @TheChaseWD windows movie maker can go faster.. but i dont think that program works on mac..

  • @rf1308

it doesnt work on mac. BUT the mac takes a WAY faster time to create ur video. movie maker is harder to create stop mtoin

  • THIS HELPED SO MUCH :)

  • Did not work at all for me. >.<

  • @mccasland10 Try again and do every step exactly the same. :)

  • what s the song

  • @2572LEGO Fireflies by Owl City.

  • mine goes too fast when i do this. What am i doing wrong?

  • @Simpsonsman120 it's probably how many pictures you take. If you take a picture of a guy lifting his hand all the way to his head, and then the next picture all the way back down, then it'll look to fast. But if you take pictures of what happens in between the hand being as high as his head, and his hand being back down then it'll look a lot smoother and slower. I hope this helps! (So to put it briefly just take more pictures.) :D

  • @Spark5643

    Thanks. :)

  • i look forward to seeing more vids. pls make vids like forestfire101, you might have talent to be better then him. which is why i subscribed. pls do same for me:) sub on mine!!!

  • thanks that really help me

  • That's sweet man!

  • does the same go with imovie08?

  • @leonkennedy9991 sorry no the minimum it can go is 0.3s.

  • um how do you put it on youtube????????

  • @MrLegopoo I'll make a tutorial on that soon. Thanks! Subscribe to see it right when it's on YouTube. :D

  • how do you add sound like voices and explosins?

  • @Macproductions2011 You put the sound effects on iTunes, and then once it's on then you can press on the music sign in iMovie. Search up the name of the effect, and you'll find it. Once you do drag it unto your movie. Hope this helped! :D

    -Spark5643

  • Very handy indeed.

  • Thank youuuu

  • dude thanx but my pictures move in and out and its annoying

  • @coolztuff1 in the video it showed how to fix it, but i miss that part to so ya. First, you click on 'edit' and then hover over 'select' and then press 'pictures'. Then if the clips are selected, press the 'crop' button on one of them, and then make sure they aren't cropped, and press 'done'. That will make all of the selected ones do the same. Hope this helped! :D

  • Your video was a godsend, I spent most of the day looking for something and this is it!

  • THANKS MAN YOUR BEST

  • when i tried this, i could only get down to 0.4s frame rate, it wont let me get to 0.1s, so is there anything i should do to get it lower?

  • @Aspergerskid01 if it dosn't work it's iMovie08 or lower...

  • @Spark5643 its imovie '09 for definite., it says so on the version

  • @Aspergerskid01 Really? Well then I really don't know... send a video response showing me.

  • @Aspergerskid01 Try iMovie '11! It worked for me, except never had iMovie '09, but I do have iLife '11, and it includes iMovie '11!

  • @MovieMonster9 I tried to get it but it said I need to update my computer.

  • @Spark5643 Do you have snow lepord? My dad had to install that before we could use iLife '11, if you don't, then tell me more about it, otherwise I am going to be stuck, and possibly could not help you.

  • @MovieMonster9 I dont have snow lepord. But mabey I should... thanks! :)

  • Is it possible to have a pic every 0,05 s. and not only 0,1 s. (which is too long for my stop motion...) ??

    Thanks guys

  • @Vinzzz73 0.1 sec is the lowest i think.

  • Thanks! I searched everywhere for the way to stop the zooming!!

  • Can someone please write out the steps?

how do you change the fps?

  • awesome video dude nice work§!

  • thank you!

  • you really really helpt thx man subed :)

  • how do you get it to not soom in every pic? plz respond

  • @Peanutman9111 select all the pics, (as shown in vid) then press that crop button, then press "fit".

  • it's actually 10 fps, when it says it would be 1... iMovie is not perfect for stopmotion

  • @cinemalego I know, but for people who wanna know, then here. Plus it matters on how many pictures it takes you know?

  • thanks soooo much it really helped

  • thanks man! this video helped me sooo much!!! :D

  • when you uplaoded the pics were they out of order ....i uploaded them from photobooth .please respond.

  • @therealBER You uploaded from Photobooth? I uploaded from iPhoto because they upoaded in order. But i guess photobooth will work in order if that's you question...tell me if i misunderstood.

  • Thank you soooo much i needed this i will subscribe

  • I have a problem how do u get that inspector thing out, cuz my imovie doesnt let me set it at less than 1 sec

  • @pivotsu is it imovie 09 for sure?

  • @Spark5643 no its 08 but theres no way to make it less than 1 sec when i type in 0.1 or 0,1 it says minimum 1 sec (1SPF= second per frame)

  • @pivotsu Well I'm not sure cuz it's never happened to me. BUT 08 can't do 0.1 seconds anyways. Sorry. :s

  • @Spark5643 Never mind i figured out it was the ken burns effect I had on. :)

  • May I make a suggestion? In the 'freeware' route, if you're working on a mac, use a program called "Frame by Frame". That actually makes a video file out of your images at a frame rate of your choice (Frames per second as opposed seconds per frame, as here). That way you can import it into any movie editor and be able to add transitions and so forth, which you can't do immediately with this method...

  • Thank you. :)

  • @danieeel31 No problem!!! :)

  • Awesome. Thanks man!

  • @ohthatsoundscool No problem.

  • @Spark5643

Nvm I figured it out. It was the kens burn effect i had on. Nice song btw!

    xD

  • @SilkSwords lol

  • I'm having problems with the pictures themselfs. I made a lego man walking from one side of the screen to the other but when I play the clib the pictures zoom in and out making it choppy. Know how to fix?

  • @SilkSwords Can you send a attachment?

  • @SilkSwords I have the program and i know, but this video is if you don't want to use that and want to use iMovie 09. But thanks! :)

  • my photos are not in order y

  • @peter123site im not sure, is it in order on iphoto?

  • @DJ87790 That's right, is it?

  • 0.1 is way too slow. I tried it and it is in slow- mo

  • @happysunproductions Your right. But if you want to do it with iMovie 09, you'll have to.

  • @TripleAAADUDE I know but we ended up talking about 2008. lol

love ur choice of song btw

  • Wow thanks for sharing! Do you know roughly how many pics it takes to make 1 second of video?

  • @sunset0304 10. 10 milli-seconds equals 1

  • thanks!!!!!! :D

  • can you do this on 08 or 07?

  • @Alexroxproductions12 It dosn't let u go past 0.3s

  • Ohhh thats how you do it =] k im gonna make a stop motion videoo now

  • Everytime i place photos in Imovie they play with a stupid panning effect zooming in out etc.. aaaaargh

  • but for me 0.1 is still slow but i take alot of pics is this my problume

  • @woodiesdiy Are you sure you take alot of pics? And if you do type in 0.1 "s". And make sure apply to all is checked.

  • @Spark5643 ya im positive look at my animations on my channal but dont worry i figured a way o make it really fast u put it to 0.1 then u make a vid bout it then import the vid then bring it up to the project place and then double click then convert then edit from 100% to 800 % (which is way to fast)

  • I'll make a new vid on that today. Hold on!

  • how do u save the stop motion to a folder so that i can upload it to my channel.

  • I used a program called screenium to record my screen. It's a demo though so you have to capture 30 secs each time.

  • get ishowu

its a demo but u record as long as u want

  • do you use a separate web cam or photo booth plz answer

  • This is REALLY helpful... thanks so much!

  • Each frame is set to exactly 0.1 sec. After you type that in click on apply to all frames. It's supposed to work.

  • Is it still set to one frame every 0.1 seconds? If it is, then it's still not up to the 25 frames per second standard. How to you get each frame to last for 0.04 seconds?

  • Dude put more tags. You will get more Famous. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
