  • Is this even a battle of "super" cars? It sounds more like a battle between a turbo and a supercharger.

  • he didnt run away from you he sprinted ....cause you cant drive lol

  • someone is jealous that he doesnt get to drive the mustang

  • Tracy hasn't got a clue in this kind of car. Ever heard of brake boost? THIRD GEAR you idiot.

  • Easy win for tanner... Paul doesn't know how to drive anything with fenders on it any way.. he needs to go back to soapbox cars where he belongs.

  • mustang is best camaro you suck

  • not a good idea putting your hands on a man of that size. good thing he's got a sense of humor

  • 1 mile race will make the camaro win

  • I wonder if tracey power shifting. If you let go of gas on shift on a turbo you lose everything.. Well he said mustang had like 75 more hp. Fastlane needed to bring more.

  • The headline read "Battle Of The Supercars", I didn't see any Supercars in the video.....just junky American muscle cars!

  • my name is tanner

  • @JarodGT; My point; Would be interesting to see SC vs SC not SC vs Turbo. You may want to re-read my comment. I'm not trying to match wits as I'm not paid to bolt parts onto engines, nor do I research engine parts to sound smarter than the next guy.. An SC and a Turbo both deliver boost differently, as does vayring types of SC's as you pointed out. But, a better comparison of two 1000hp vehicle would be nice to see both with same boost technologies. No? Even better use the same SC technology.

  • Mustang wins again???? Lol

  • I't's amazing how many people don't know squat but like to rattle their mouth. The Mustang has a huge 2.9L supercharger, which means although both vehicle make about 1000hp. on a dyno with high RPM, the Supercharger will always produce power more quickly than the turbo at lower RPM. Additionally, because this particular roots style SC has one of the largest capacities it will keep making power at high RPM. Would be nice to see the Camaro with a F-1R ProCharger SC instead of a turbocharger.

  • @calbert1999 Speaking of not knowing squat and rattling their mouth. 2.9l superchargers are no longer considered HUGE as there are 3.9L Liquid Cooled Kenne Bells and now 4.2L whipples. 2nd the 2.9L is NOT a roots style SC, its a twin screw. which is completely different as it compresses air not just moves it. Might want to do some research before you type.

  • What is the intake like on the shelby because I know that is what lacks on the Camaro...

Or maybe i just made that all up to sound like a car enthusiast..

    I am I swear!

  • the Shelby GT500 is pure performance. the Camaro SS is not. that's what the ZL1 is for. come back when you try those two.

  • 60 to 130 mph in 10 sec?? seems kinda slow

  • @afgandominator got to remember he statred in 3rd gear

  • Lol camaro has the better form of forced induction and more cubes and still lost.

  • @TheDartblockstang the Stang has 1000 horsepower though. It should loss.

  • I'd love to own either of those cars. I prefer mustangs, but if I had the coin I'd buy one of each, and a Challenger as well. Man I'm loving the pony wars. We are seeing some nice modern pony cars.

  • @Swidhelm I'm a fan of all cars but mainly the one's that an everyday guy could afford and fix up. I was able to get supercar performance that could compare against any $200K car..just my opinion. I ended up buying a Z06 and I am doing a little work to it now. The weight difference alone makes the car fast but the header/cam upgrade I did to it over the weekend didn't hurt either (550RWhp). I will have a twin turbo setup going on this one!!

  • @judelagrange Yeah I hear you. I would kill to own a Ford GT, but that is not in the cards. I'm aiming for a mustang if work picks up. Mind I likely won't have it up to 550 hp, heh. Probably, with some bolt ons 400 or so. But who knows. I'd love to have a Z06 too. Very nice cars. I think what appeals to me about muscle cars (though I think the vette is probably a super car now, what with its weight distribution and power.) is that they are blue collar cars, not elite rich guy cars.

  • @Swidhelm Yeah I used to think the same way about them being blue collar cars but they don't hold value at all. I picked up an 09 Z06, nav, for half of what one cost new. Then the guy threw in a set of Nitto Invo's. Keep an eye on ebay, they come around. Also on the Corvette Forms too! That little bit of power I put in it made a night/day difference and only gave 4K installed for it. (cam, headers, rods, springs, tune, x pipe). The cam is similar to what Lingenfelter specs out in their kits.

  • The Camaro was my car and I saw it as chance in a lifetime opportunity to put it on the show. My car didn't have the power as the mustang but it gave it a run for it's money. The turbo was slightly undersized and an upgrade to fix that was performed after this show. I just wanted every one to know that this car was an everyday driver and never intended for the top end numbers. The turbo setup worked for my 1/4 mile needs. Thanks for all the input good or bad!!

  • @judelagrange Bloody sweet car dude! I'm amazed that the stock brakes performed as well as they did compared to after markets on the stang.

    Cheers.

  • @Swidhelm Yes the Brembo stock set-up is a very good addition from GM. I would have to say that the weight difference played a factor in the test as well but I'm not sure on what a GT500's weight actually is. It's just my opinion....

  • @judelagrange Oh for sure. I think the 2011 Shelby weighs less than the 2010. What year was that Shelby, do you know? I know the 2010 had an iron block, but the 2011 has a new aluminum block, making the nose lighter. Either way I was impressed by both cars.

  • @Swidhelm The Shelby body was a 2010 but the motor was a hand built set up. Their was alot more time and coin in this car than mine. I see it almost every day at the shop still. Their was a 4 link added to the car so I'm not sure what the weight actually is. The motor is an Iron Block 5.4

  • The Shelby was tuned to more horsepower so this competition wasn't even. Even when the host interviewed Foust he mentions that the Shelby has 100 more hp than the Camaro. Fastlane admitted to not having the proper turbo kit in time to make the 1000hp. The Camaro ended up with just 800hp & it still did a great job against a car with 200X horsepower. So there.

  • supercharger ford modular motors are beastly i usta make fun of 4.6 and 5.4,s but then i drove a kb cobra and ooooommmmmggggg

  • okay, what's wrong with this picture... my 3600lb 500awhp VW does 60-130 in 9seconds... at the numbers quoted here I'd expect to see 6 seconds 60-130 at least... no way those cars are making the horsepower numbers quoted...

  • it has nothing to do with which you like better what matters is American Engineering has come a looooong way!!!

  • Yeah! Suck it, Camaro!

  • This is about pure power, not necessarily performance. I don't see how you could bag on any of these two cars. I'm sure anyone here would give a nut to drive one of these. Watch the whole episode, the Shelby going 100mph and still getting tire slippage when putting the throttle down. That is so sick!!! I would love to have that car!!!

  • They should have used a Hennessey Camaro

  • these cars arent 1000hp. there to slow for 1000 hp

  • LOL, 1000HP and only 10 seconds in the 60-130? I was expecting at least in the 5's, but then I remembered I was watching "muscle cars" that weigh two tons.

  • @xmazurx actually their weigh about 4 tons

  • @MikkelAagaard 4 tons no 2 tons yeah they weigh 3800lbs and some change both cars.

  • @MikkelAagaard you do realize that a ton is 2000lbs..... that would mean the cars weigh 8000lbs according to you. i dont think so buddy......

  • Comment removed

  • @judelagrange watch this show, these 1000 horsepower muscle cars hit 190mph in 1 mile, the ferrari vs porsche episode has both cars with 500 half of what the muscle cars have and yet they hit 170 mph only 20 mph slower and on half the power.

  • @guitaristwagner

Wind resistance increases exponentially with speed. that's why it will only need 20hp to get from 80-100, 50hp to go from 100-120, 100hp to go from 120-140 ect. Realize also that in reference to a standing mile, it's about acceleration, not top speed, so gearing has an affect also.

  • @guitaristwagner past 150 mph it's all about power... given similar drag coefficients, to get an extra 20 mph in the mile above 170 requires a heck of a lot more horsepower. I added 100 HP to my car, now almost 600 bhp and only gained 8 mph on the top end.

  • @judelagrange LOL. Mussels are a type of shellfish!

  • Bad!!!!!

  • Gt500 shows that "turbo charged" camaro who's boss !!! That's what I'm talking about... Damn, both cars are saaaawweeeeet. Lol
