Z28s and SS's came with 12 bolts stock and this is a SS so it HAD a 12 bolt. But we found a good deal on a 10 bolt with a spool and 33 spline axles. They say its good to about 1000hp.

How do u like the small duration with the big lift does she slingshot? I want a .515 lift but the duration is 300 and I wanna be sure on performance before I order a large duration.

@256dallas are you sure the duration is at .50 cuz there is a big difference. the car drives well on the street but could actually use more cam to take advantage of the nitrous. it isnt the wild of a cam anyway. it goes 11.20s NA and 9.80s so far on the spray.

I think im a go with the lunati bracket master2 come down to 272 duration. Drop lift from .515 to .480 but jump up a lil wit 1.6 ratio roller rockers to bout .507 1500-6000 rpm what do you think?

@256dallas dude that is the exact same setup i ran in my 400 cam rockers and all! it runs awesome sounds just as good. The torque that lil cam offers is great but you will surrender a lil bit of horsepower for it. and your corrrect 1500- around 6200

No Its probably just a little rich at start up. It fuel injected so it probably squirts a little too much fuel.

Its a bored over 400. its actually a 404 bored .20 over. but not many people have heard of a 404. so we call it a 406 which is was everyone one knows which is a 400 bored .30 over.

yes i have racing videos, just look at my user profile. the car revs from like 4500-7200rmp. its a solid roller cam tho. its a auto th350 with 4:10 gears with a 28" tall tire. car has gone a best of 9.82 at 138mph

it has nothing to do with the age.

thats because they have v8 that are built up. that poping sound or lopy idle is because of an over size cam that has a bigger lift on the intake valve. the sound and idle is created by the intake valve in the head being opened longer then usual. result is that u get that kind of an idle and generally 25-40 hp gain over stock cams.

Awesome car. Brings back memories for me. I had a 70 ss/rs 396 myself back in the early 80's. Wish I still had it. I had the one piece spoiler as well. Mine was mostly stock otherwise, didn't have the money to do the mods back then. I was trying to accumulate the parts to build it up and never was able to finish the project. I still miss the car.

if you are going to run it on the street i wouldnt suggest it. We have mufflers for it when its on the street. And it dumps right befor the rear axel under the car.
