  • who the fuck cares about sampling.i've tried it with modern computers and shit, didn't even came close to the worst tune(jericho/genaside II, all tough it's a great oldschool tune).liam makes it sound original, ruff and i think there's no one who can make it sound better than him.so stop bitchin about it!when someone will ome even closer to what he does than stand up and show it,till than prodigy will be THE BEST!respect and thank you liam for what u've created for us!

  • omg add annicdotes or whatever to make it easier to identify samples :) ?

  • Any samples for Omen?

  • liam have the best song riping skills.

this is not remixing, but it is making cover versions of original songs.

  • Stand up its the same ashsahusahuuhsa

  • These artists and songs happened way back and aren't remembered to many people, The Prodigy come along and ask if they can sample, gives them some money and maybe some recognition so its good for everyone plus The Prodigy make them sound fuckin amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • @DJxBash bullshit

they make them sound the way its accepted at this time

had I scratched records (something that is completely DEAD at this time) no one will give a single fuck

The prodigy like many "artists" took what's good yet forgotten now (since it's all about the mainstream digitally revoiced shit with a pretty face) and remade it

something that many do to this day

take good music and repackage as their own and ppl think theyre awesome for making it when its unoriginal

  • @finnsia:

I have two cases that can prove you wrong.

    1. Pogo. Takes small samples from music and other clips from various movies or shows and makes something totally new from them. I recommend Alice.

    2. Todd Edwards. Same as the above, but his samples aren't usually from a soundtrack. I recommend Perfect Love.

Besides, everything comes from something. Even songs sampled by The Prodigy..

  • @thapoint09 But that's what I'm trying to say, the songs sampled by the Prodigy are unoriginal. Where as the entire song is based on a single sample. Like that song about the devil, the song about thunder and many more.

  • @finnsia:

You say that as if that automatically makes it bad.

  • @thapoint09 Making money off of someone else's work, having a song liked for something that isn't theirs originally and only making a few changes isn't bad?

  • @finnsia:

    Maybe I should rephrase that.

You say all this as if just because a song samples something it automatically sucks.

And who says you can't like a song that samples something, and the original song as well, maybe even more? Example: Dr. Dre's Let Me Ride is all right, but the sample (Parliament's Mothership Connection) is much better IMO. See?

And even though Liam Howlett doesn't, other producers do ask and pay for these samples (half or more of the time, at least).

  • Thank you

  • Wow, they almost sound exactly the same. No wonder "Invaders Must Die" didn't get that good of a rating by critics because the people who reviewed it were probably old enough to remember the originals.

  • hey how did u make the video effects?

btw nice clip.. i think its kinda stealin when prodigy takes the whole melody of "One Way Glass" n makes n own song out of it... thats fake

  • @bouraquemusic i made the video with windows movie maker because i'm lazy and not arsed to find a better program. thanks btw. about stealing... prodigy is all about sampling, which is stealing from other artists and making a banger out of it. Liam has said several times in interviews: "i'm a pirate. i steal from anyone, i don't give a fuck". and if the tracks rock hard, who gives a F ??

  • @r0hypnol there r different ways of samplin, u can take a whole loop or jus a few tones and make a whole nu melody out of it. to take an old melody and make a banger out of it is one of the most fucking easiest things to do. And everybody who knows sumtin about makin music or had work or creativity gives a fuck and has no respect for people like that

  • @r0hypnol exactly :D

  • @bouraquemusic in recent times they pay the original artists thousands of pounds actually for using the samples.

  • the same band gave us the samples for Worlds On Fire and Firestarter!

  • so as long you change that part of the song your using, its okay ? :P

  • @fnuler123 according to law you can sample 4 bars without asking the original artist and do whatever you want with that

  • @kanal4:

    Source?

  • @thapoint09 I meant to say one bar. But my dad told me

  • what if someone sampled Prodigy? Would they clear the sample if someone were to do so? =P

  • good one.i wonder what would happen.

  • @Qukl1s inspiring too!!

  • Liam hired the original artist to re-sing the 'Thunder' lyrics, that's why it sounds different to the source track.

  • the lyrics are changed and sung by Brother Culture, a different artist to the original. read the sleeve

  • But the sample from Thunder is different... I mean the words are the same, but it's a different voice.

  • its called "PITCHED"

  • it was the accent i was talking about. the accent doesn't change when it's pitched

  • Hey man I dont want to be a dick or anything but, the beat samples from "Let The Warriors Dance" by Addis Posse were also in Warriors Dance by The Prodigy.

  • i know there are some samples missing. the main beat in Run, for instance, is taken / inspired from a track by Does It Offend You? Yeah!

noticed that after posting the vid so i'll take the blame

  • how is salami fever sampled in take me to the hospital?

  • listen carefully man. the drums before the beat are from Salami Fever and the "Wooh!" as well

  • Боже мой! Ой ой ой ой ой!!!!

  • where is the 3,2,1,0 part from? ( i mean the part in worlds on fire)

  • it's from Outlander - Vamp. that sample is featured in this video as well.

  • Brilliant !!!!

  • brilliant

  • Excellent vid thanks :)

  • Faboulosssss!!!!woooooow

  • Very nice video. Saved me a lot of time too since I was searcing these songs one at the time. ;)

  • Thanx for this vid, very cool

  • BLOODY HELL, iv listened to this album religiously an jus realised world on fire is a Breeders track (class album as it is)...DOH!!!

  • CATACRACK!!!

  • I dont see a song called "Big Gun Down" on my IMD ablum help plz :S :)

  • it's from the Lost Beats EP that came with the luxury boxset.

  • yeh bu mate, ye misinterpreted what i said. What I meant to ay is he took the samples and made them work for him. Cos he's pure fukking genius. I see that ye're a superfan like myself. it's ok, I respect ye mate. x]

  • so?

Music by The Prodigy speaks to me, and that other shit doesn't, Liam remade those track into a real music experience.

  • so? i made this video just because prodigy fans (like me) would know what parts of tracks Liam sampled from. and btw, he didn't REMAKE those tracks.

  • Your video is nice too, even though I knew all these samples already =)

  • Interesting
