The Jaguar's so called 64 bit hardware was so fucked up that it was extremely hard if not impossible to code a game that utilized all processors without crashing.

Some programmers had to use the sound processor as the main CPU to make the damn thing work.

The Atari's sound chip was the Motorola 68K which is the same as the main CPU of the Sega Genesis.

That's why allot of games on the 64 bit Jaguar look like straight ports from the 16 bit Sega Genesis.

The game Stunts came out in 1990. It's probably not fair to compare a PC game of that era to a console game from the same time period, but screw that. Stunts was better. You could usually drive the cars.

I liked Atari games.They had the WORST programers who just sat around getting paid and refused to make any games.in the mean time Sega and Nintendo rapped Atari.The Jaguar was a fantastic system.So was the NEC workstation.But Sega bough out all the good companies with exclusive content! Then convenced the public the system was low grade.So the companies hid games in stores and refused to sell them for some grudge over 20 years ago!

Wasn't the Jaguar's hardware basically an Amiga + a bunch of weird chips that no-one could program effectively and weren't very powerful anyway?

Made it great for Amiga conversions, though you have to feel sorry for / laugh at anyone who bought massively overpriced versions of Syndicate and Cannon Fodder years after they were released, and played them with that hideous joypad.

And then realised how much better are than most of the Jag's own games.
