  • Couldn't watch the plane land that quick lol

  • what is that music i know ive heard it before

  • @jeffreyaselin Apple Garage Band bed, funny thing is the google bot constantly marks it as copyright infringement because so many people have claimed it as "theirs" ..... no its Apple Garage Band part of ilife.

  • Your videos are great man, good work! One question I had is do the airline staff frown upon you sticking the camera on the window?

  • @mquarisa Sometimes, treat them with respect and you will be surprised what they let you get away with. But, you buy a ticket for a seat and a window view, so I say use it.

I still maintain that flying is fun and we should enjoy it despite TSA.

  • simple, yet stunning!!!! love it

  • @Rynkar666 Thanks, I still enjoy this video, one of my favorites too.

  • What were the intervals used? Awesome!!!

  • @sapsimmeyun 1 frame every 2 seconds.

  • 0:26 looks like your in the space

  • is this 1080p mode or 720p mode? nice video, i really liked it a lot

  • @miketrup9 Neither, this was created in time lapse mode. It is a series of still images stitched together, and because they are almost 2k in size they easily make a 1080 60fps video clip. By the way, this video was created using the original GoPro Hero Wide camera (standard def)

  • This is excellent. I'm having trouble with my suction cup mount, the last piece that allows the camera to sit facing forward, in for example the middle of a car windscreen.. I'm unsure if I have a defective part or if i need to actually purchase nother bolt/nut? It just doesn't secure it at all, and It's really annoying. I was wondering if maybe you could help me out.. ... I hope this makes some sense. I can give diagrams + pictures if not. But it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • @renimagery One tricky thing about the gopro mounts is there are two different length screws to tighten the joints, make sure you have the right ones for the right joint. If that's not it send me a photo, gmail att my channel name.

  • @Getawaymoments I spend all afternoon trying to understand what I was doing wrong. Turns out I didn't know that the bolt/nut could be popped out of the fixtures... Doh. *face palm*

Thank you so much for replying!

  • @renimagery No problem, I "face palm" a couple times a day. Have fun shooting!

  • Nicely done! :-)

  • Great Job !!!!!

  • that is probably my favourite GoPro video! how long do they record for?

  • @matthewstein1997 It all depends on battery and SD card size. But my un-scientific experience is about four hours on the new HD gopro with a new battery. My old standard definition gopro would last about two hours on two new AAA batteries.

  • i need to do this next time too. its just great!

  • @1ameise1 Send me the link when you do, love to watch them.

  • @Getawaymoments i will, maybe (if i get to recharge the batteries there) i can shoot it on sunday from my flight from mailand to berlin :)

  • Great idea and a very cool video.

  • how come you filmed two different flights?

  • @adelaidebuddy I wanted two different angles to mix it up. Also, I did this with a standard def gopro and it had neither the battery power or memory space to do the entire flight. So I broke it up.

  • Is it the video mode or 1 frame every two seconds ?

  • @toocoolforu Still mode, 1 frame every two seconds.

  • Where did you get the suction cup? Who makes it? That doesn't look like GoPro Suction Cup? Shhh.... I won't tell Go Pro. ;-)

  • @dhad1976 Its not gopro, but I do have a gopro suction cup and they are great. The one I used in this video is a cheap chinese model I have not been able to find on the internets. I got it at a local camera store, sorry.

  • @aeroDUStv Thanks, I love the flying timelapses.

  • Great job!

  • i just bought a go pro hd camera..can someone please explain to me exactly how to do a time lapse?

  • @MrMotokid777 It's a cut off of apples garage band ....

  • How did TSA let you set that up?

  • @jthefoo They didn't. Its still a free country, photography from an airplane is allowed. Every time I travel through security with all my camera gear they look, point a lot, and let me go on about my business.

  • Freakin Awesome! Did you do any color correction like add saturation to get the sky so dark?

  • @AvidEditor08 No, that timelapse was shot with a standard def gopro hero, and I have noticed that the stills that it creates are very rich in saturation ..... much more so then the new HD hero. If you want to do timelapses only, the SD hero is a great bargain at $99 most places.

  • What setting did you use to shoot this?

  • @goldypker I shot this with a standard def gopro hero in time lapse mode one frame every 2 seconds.

  • THE COOLEST GOPRO VIDEO IVE SEEN

  • @sasktank Thanks! I love shooting time lapses.

  • That's what i'm doing once i get mine! :D ♥

  • im horrefied of all the "chemtrailcloudlayer" in the beginning of the video, you can see the trails and the "foggy" looking mist... scary shit. just so u know, Nasa has admitted to that they are spraying the atmiosphere with aluminum, barium. No need to say "it isnt reall" just look it upp, read the info there is and u will know

  • i love the music great choice for this video

  • Fantastic work mate!!!

How did you hold it on the window - suction mount?

  • @qlder yep, it really is that simple.

  • So umm, did the winglets fall off?

  • @rikmyr yes, its too bad they did not use the same equipment on my return flight.

  • @qlder So umm, did the winglets fall off?

  • Great camera work!!

  • Great video. Very inspirational. Question: in editing, how long do you use each picture? Standard 1/30 of a second is what I would guess.

  • @StreechColorado I start with 30fps but I adjust the speed to smooth out the action

    when its needed.

  • cool video. can't wait for my hero hd to arrive!

  • From a fellow videographer....quite remarkable.....!!!!

  • @dcrodwell very remarkable. so simple but so intricate!

  • that looks amazing

  • Did you attach the camera to the arm rest to keep it steady?

  • @Saguaro24 attached to window with suction cup, i will be posting photos of how i did it on my blog soon

  • Another question for you - did you ask permission from the airline to take the footage? Weren't the aircrew a bit suspect with you attaching suction cups to the windows? Great footage by the way!

  • @zeeeter Taking footage during flight violates no FAA regulations and most airlines don't care if you take footage. A few airlines do have policies against it and they'll let you know if they see you filming, but honestly most aircrews will let you film even if it's agains their airline's policy.

  • @kurfew007 Actually not true, as no electronic devices of any kind are permitted to be operating during taxi, takeoff and landing (except phones after landing on most U.S. airlines).

  • @michaelsaez I'm not a legal expert so I will not touch that part of your comment other than to say when the FAA bans photography from airplanes we really have lost everything that makes this country great. Digital cameras, like a gopro have such a small RF footprint there is no danger from operating them. Cell phones on the other hand are RF flame throwers not to mention smart phones. No telling what RF from phones are going to do in a metal tube even during taxi.

  • nice video, what interval was this?

  • @FreakyFunkyMonkey 1 frame every two seconds

  • What kind of batteries do you use to last an entire flight?

  • plain "AAA" batts, for this flight i think i changed them once.

The new go pro hd camera has a rechargable battery, so you can carry a spare.

  • Amazing!

  • thanks, I love the fact that we can share videos across the world .... still trips me out.

  • I used a small suction cup, on my other flight timelapse i think i clamped the camera to my food tray

  • I watched your entire play list, lotsO good stuff, thanks for sharing with us (I like your vast mix of subjects n interests)....

    Especially liked "Snow Day".......

Just how do you pan so steady when shooting time laps?

    Aloha, Glennnnnn

  • Original idea, great vid....

Shot in Time Laps I assume?

How many frames per min. did you shoot this at?

  • @UTubeGlennAR

this video was created by cutting a couple

    thousand JPEGs together

shot one frame every two seconds

  • this is awesome! great job

too bad planes don't normally fly that fast...

  • One of the reasons I decided to purchase the Go Pro was it's ability to do time laps in HD.

Your South West flight was about 2 hours. Did U use all the frames (about 7,2oo frames) or did U edit some out?

Also, what software did you put the video together with?

    Thank you, Glennnnn

  • i did not use the entire flight.

    i had to change batteries,

hence the cutaway of the return flight

I have an old GoPro but the JPEG resolution is high enough to create an

    HD timelapse

the video was cut on Avid Xpress Pro

check my playlist, i have another flying timelapse shot with a canon sd870,

    lower res but cool
