  • I luv this song, it's so pretty and different! I wish I could sing like that...

  • wow amazing, I love how there's no boys playing music with them. it's so different... yet it's soooo good!

  • the bass player couldve made some awesome riffs for parts of this song....

  • @Zable009 Yeah, they wrote this song when she was first joined the band, and she wasn't flexible to add parts/wasn't good enough yet. She has a killer bassline in Aaairplane, tho.

  • @FlyBird I checked out Airplane and the whole album. Pretty awesome :]

  • I love this song!!! It's awesome!!! :)

  • This song still rocks my world. I still have it on my cell anser machine..... And yeah I'm still waiting for them to release the third CD! Look on my profile to see my Smoosh History Lesson.... and the Smoosh Files website....

Lame to announce my site but yeah....

  • REALLY stupid question...

What is Chloe playing on her set at 2:30---2:36

  • Electronic drum pads.

  • I love the Metro. If I knew they were there I would have been there it's just down the road from where I live. :(

    Smoosh come back to Chicago.

  • does anyone know when the album comes out or what its called?

  • Talked to them the about a week ago and it sounds like they are about to start mixing it and it should be ready a couple months from now, probably just after the new year?

It's going to be awesome. I love these guys and hope they have an amazing year. They are so brilliant and so down to earth.

  • what's important is that they're not stuck with any big music company and do just what they like.

  • No doubt. A major label would probably hire additional musicians and force them to "collaborate" with professional hit crafters to make radio friendly pop tunes. Right now they still have creative freedom over their music.

  • I love smoosh! this song is awesome!

  • Yeah.... That dude and I talked through email. Problem solved. Everyone's feeling nice... Everyone's feeling cool....

    OOPs I quoted her again!

  • how do you know for sure that maia was born in 1997? cuz i looked on wikipedia once and it said she was born in '96. i know wikipedia is completely unreliable but how exactly do you know when she was born then?

  • Who really cares... The girls are cool... just enjoy them...... :)

  • This is a really great vid!

  • thanks! i had fun shooting the show

  • Their bass player is like 8.

    Its crazy.

  • Wrong she's 11. What's so crazy about being talented at a young age.

Asy the lead singer and keyboardist has been writing songs and taught herself complicated piano scores since she was 8. Asy is a genius.

  • shes 12 :)

  • She was born Sept 5 1997

    Do the math.....

You calling me on this? I'm righter.....

    To quote Asy.....

  • haha NICE!

I like the use of words from Dark Shine :]

  • And the song is hauntingly contagious.

I use it as music for my cell phone answer message. I don't know why but Asy reminds me of a young Stevie Nicks....

  • whoa... stalker!

  • Me? You talkin' to me?

I'm not a stalker! You are wrong way wrong!

  • kidrad1 is right. Their little sister Maia (bass player) is 11, Chloe is 14, and Asya is 16. I asked Chloe and Asya at a concert in Phoenix.

  • Thanks for the validation....

as far as spivey that still is wrong.

  • Actually..

if she was born in 1997 (i did the math)

    she'd technically still be 10.

I'm pretty sure she was born in 1996 and she's turning 12 this year.

It doesn't matter I guess, but I found it incredibly lame that you quoted Dark Shine(but incredibly devoted to Smoosh it's kinda scary)

Asya's not much of a lyrical genius either, she always sings "I don't know."

  • Man get over your damn self! I quoted a song and was just putting a little humor into it and all of a sudden because I am as you say "incredibly devoted" to Smoosh. Scary? There are real world issues that Smoosh takes my mind off of. I say crazy stuff online about different things all the time. But the online me is nothing at all like the real me. You are taking my posts way too serious.

I could care freaking less how old any one is. "okay?~!

  • First, what the hell is wrong with quoting a song? And why is devotion bad? I know people who are "incredibly devoted" to the WWF; now THAT'S scary.

As for the lyrics, it doesn't always matter what the actual words are, as long as it makes good music. Some of my all-time favorite songs make absolutly no sense at all if you look at just the words. That way, it can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. Prefab music is literal. And I say "I don't know" all the time. Maybe she doesn't know...

  • Does anybody know when another

    album comes out?

  • Yeah, I heard that their third album will be coming out in early 2009. Well, that's what they hope for... and it will be called "In the fall"

    I can't wait!! =]

  • You are right except that the title is not going to be 'in the fall'

someone on a web blog that interviewed the girls said that 'in the fall' meant that they were set to start recording in the fall, as in the season. He cleared it up in the Yahoo smooshfans group.

  • oh!! haha that's kinda funny!

In the fall... haha I love it =]

Kind of a play on words..

  • No It's not going to be called In The Fall!

    That is just a rumor!

  • Asy does have a nice play on words. She has a gift for words. She has done this since She Like Electric. Probably before..... A true prodigy.

  • Tim, I always like your work...Interesting song writing, great voice, cool melodies...a little more practice and this band could be great...I hate to admit it but I need more instruments...a guitar, a stand up base...something to add depth to the melody...

    Nice work on the videography...

  • they've got a base now

and you don't need a guitar - as long as the keyboard can keep up and do a good enough job - something she is definitely doing.

  • These gals have talent! Thanks for sharing Tim

  • ahh! you scanned right by me at the beginning. (i'm so lame). but anyways good video.

  • thanks for this

  • the venue is nice but they always use too much red lights. (video cameras hate red!)

my camera did a good job with the audio, turned on the 'attenuator'.

    thanks

  • this one is wayyyyyyyy better then mine, I didn't take to many videos of opening bands. I wanted to save my battery life for Tokyo Police Club.

  • Let me know if you want me to post more from this concert! Thanks to the Metro and Smoosh for letting me bring my camera in.

  • By all means, please post more. Good job recording from up close. Usually the sound is all distorted. This seems like a pretty nice venue compared to some others.
