  • sounds like beavis and butthead :)

  • They went to see HOLE =DDDDDD LAWL

  • @blindingsun asshole that is what i was JUST about to comment about...yes indeed they were coming home from a hole concert...

  • Look at his neck! jesus. Love Mr Rollins

  • God bless Henry

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • @CaressMyBalls4Me You are a fucking moron,.

  • I show this story to everyone I know who feel suicidal. Always helps.

  • @RFTC69 actually, murdering thugs mugged them and shot cole. if you're going to be racist, do it when you're not dishonoring a man's death.

  • @HumanoidComplex

actually, no. I'd use the word nigger here. I think anyone who is that ignorant, repulsive, and overall murderous and havenothing to produce for society, they're niggers. color doesn't matter. when your only "advancement" to society as a whole is to take it back a few steps, you're a nigger.

  • @RFTC69 oakland huh?

  • i wish there was an audio file of this

  • @guitardudde1 I could make that happen!

  • thank you for this. one of my favorite vhs tapes ever bought

  • thank you for this. one of my favorite vhs tapes ever bought

  • i'm reading 'see a grown man cry... now watch him die' now...

  • @allmightymouse there is a little peice of that in the portable henry rollins

  • I enjoy listening to this video. I am very interested in scientific life extension and planning on becoming a scientist that can extend the human life. Yet here on youtube and in real life people are always oppossed to radical life extension, even if thats through the process of haulting and eventually reversing the ageing process. I just don't get it. almost nobody would voluntarily jump off a bridge and die, so whats the problem with postponing that day?

  • I have sent this video to people I know going through a rough time and people I don't know going through a hard time. Every person I've shown it to has walked away brighter, happier, and more appreciative of life. I can't thank Henry enough for this twenty minute clip.

  • @ChoopaEverywhere I;m actually tempted to show this to a coworker of mine.

  • @VaBeachLoserKid Do it. I think it'll only do him/her some good.

  • thumbs up if you think henry rollins looks like a built jim carey

  • Interesting switch out of 3rd person perspective after you no longer matter.

  • hey howsa bout that rollins video

  • He would be fifty this year. I wonder how Rollins would've turned out if Joe Cole were still with us.

  • @aaronscrewme white people never murdered anyone I take it, k gotcha. Keep the blinds drawn. They were murderers, pathetic human beings, but you make it about race, while the man who was victimized doesn't, shows you're as pathetic as the criminals.

  • @NY1love Your feelings will never lump me with cold hearted murderers. If you could read, you'd know the crime statistics.

  • "Uh lodda peopul don't know dat I'm a very eryoodite & intenze actuh, see? A lodda people don' see my full potential, dey dink I'mma meathead..."

  • is he retarted?

  • One of the most painful stories ever. I don't know how he does it.

  • I flip off everybody when I'm driving....

  • DAMN. I used to live on Westminster....Brooks always had a crazy vibe, even when I was there in '05...such a sad story. R.I.P. Joe Cole

  • i do drugs and i most definitely do not agree with everything he says, but, i think that this is something everyone should watch because there is so so much you can get out of this

  • Henry Rollins killed his friend then made up this story so he could sell tickets to his spoken word shows.

  • I love this man. I honestly do.

  • Over the top LOL

  • that rocky impersonation just about made me piss my self lol

  • henry looks like jim cary in the thumbnail

  • People who think that Henry Rollins is a massively insecure douchebag need to recognize that there are specific reasons that he is a massively insecure douchebag. The guy has things about his past and how he's struggled that he can't talk about and doesn't really want to talk about, but every time he acts like a massively insecure douchebag to somebody, I imagine it's his way of saying, "I starved in a band" or "Joe Cole is dead."

  • @BannedCinema But so have thousands of others and yet they don't become douchebag-extraordinaires (and I'm a fan of his solo stuff believe it or not). He's got his head so far up his own ass that he barely acknowledges other people. This is why these pseudo intellectual ramblings are often snoozefests. The more I listen to him, the more I see him as an unintentional comic. See "Henry Rollins vs Hipsters". Hank gives his most cringe worthy "performance" to date.

  • @ritter89

Have you seen Rollins lately. He looks like shit. dude is only 50 and he has bags under his eyes grey hair and looks skinnier and skinnier every time he does an interview.

Its funny as he has been mr health nut anti drug guy his whole life.

My alcoholic father in his 70s looks younger than old hank

  • @BaconJimmy i think you are jelous...

  • @erickleandro

Im not jealous. Im just pointing out obvious things. Plus Rollins has been doing the sensitive tough guy thing since hes been 21 years old.

Its betting boring now he is 50.

Plus he used to just do spoken words to punk rocker and hardcore kids now he fucking talks to every mush brain comformist who will buy a ticket to see his shtick.

  • @BaconJimmy Well, would you prefer punk rockers to talk only to punk rockers? We might even put all punk rockers together, build walls and fences around them and have them speaking their minds to each other so that the conformists won't get a taste of punk rockers point of view...

  • @erickleandro

Im just saying that in the 80s and 90s only punk kids would ever go to see henry rollins

now every hipster douche bag and college mush brain liberal thinks hes mr cool and so intellectual.

    your missing my point.

Henry knows his audience and it is not the punk scene or hardcore kids like it was 20 years ago.

Thats why he talks about shit today like bashing mcdonalds , george bush and other things he knows liberals going to shcool on daddies dime will agree with

  • @BaconJimmy Alright I get what you mean... Still I think what he does is positive...

  • @BaconJimmy You're a moron. He's much older now. People mature. He's not talking to a certain group of people and he's not "bashing shit" just for money. These are things that piss him off and he wants to talk about them. Why would he keep talking about punk rock from the 80's if he has found something else he wants to talk about? You're the hipster here, sir.

  • I'm goin to see him at Joe's Public Theatre in Feburary! I can't wait. I work out to Rolins Band and I just got his book Portable Rollins. He's such an inspiration!

  • This was fucking awesome.Rollins is a sage.

  • I wish I could meet this guy. The way he talks about his friend Joe reminds me of my brother. I have nothing but respect for this guy.

  • his stallone impression just sounds like the wolfman

  • this is like me and my friend

  • I'm surprised Henry had the guts to talk about it. I'm sure it was hard for him.

  • This is both dark and hilarious.

  • I first watched this on VIDEO; before DVDs were even INVENTED! It's from and old but GREAT Spoken Word and it's one of the things that really turned me on to Rollin's and his publishing company. I wasn't a "Black Fan," either, but I love "Rollins Band" and his Spoken Word and his TV show . . .

  • TOMORROW NIGHT!!! 03/30/10 at the State Theater in State College Pa. Henery Rollins Live spoken word. I got my tix!!!! 580 seats. I CAN'T WAIT!!!

  • This is officially, one of the greatest stories ever told....Henry Rollins is a genius!!

  • This monologue has to be one of the most emotionally powerful oratory pieces ever performed.

  • @infantfinite: Maybe cause he is the singer from black flag.......

  • @claysen1234 He knows, he was being sarcastic. :P

  • kinda looks likes the singer for pantera

  • no, he looks like the singer from Black Flag.

  • Im going to see him this week. I knew Joe's Dad and ex wife

  • @CPFollower, is it true that Joe's father blamed Henry for it?

  • @JosephKuby No it is not true. I knew him before he passed away last year. Guy lived in my town and I saw him all the time at happy hour. He actually in the end, didn't know who murdered him. It's sad that the police cannot solve this still....

  • @CPFollower Yeah, man, this made me tear up, and as a metal guy, that never happens.

  • @georgefisher656. I saw rollins do this live in lauderdale. He is actually a cool guy. Speaking of Metal. I'm heading to see the scorpions farewell concert tonight with Ratt. Peace out I'll have vids up

  • S' hard to be this open.

  • He is so good! And this spoken word was so from the heart and gut wrenching.

  • What I wanna know is how he knows where his buddy was conceived. They must have been really good friends.

  • This is possibly one of the greatest stories ever told. Amazing!!!

  • I saw him at Rock Werchter, it was fuckin' awesome.

  • one of the most touching things I have ever heard

  • Damn they would've loved the Rifftrax commentary on Over The Top.

  • I've watched this many times. The first time I cried. I'm not big fan of Black Flag, but I like the way Rollins is. He's a hard working man. I wish I had his work ethic.

  • @piepermatthew if you wish you had his work ethic...than just have his work ethic its not that hard to....work hard

  • @piepermatthew You and me both.

  • @piepermatthew i completely agree, man. i like rollins enough to have tried very hard to like black flag on several occasions. i wish i could dig em, but i don't. i just think he seems like an awesome guy.

  • ha theres a rocky marathon on today im gonna think about this while watching it

  • What year is this from?

  • rollins is the shit

  • he was a roadie for black flag and i believe rollins band. his father is/was famous.

it doesnt matter if he is famous or not what matters is he was a person who lost his life because of some fucking lazy assholes who could not find a constructive job in life.

  • @WalkSeeknDestroySell also Sonic Youth

  • "Talking from the box", am I right?

  • this is off human butt.

  • This is also off of "Talking From The Box" I just saw this yesterday

  • What should he have done??? Your the faggot, that was real life and not a James Bond movie.

  • I'm sorry to hear that something simliar happened to you, but i don't think you can compare situations like that.

  • I imagine you are right about that, good point.

  • Do what?

  • That's one of the dumbest comments I've ever seen on youtube. Rollins didnt have a fuckin gun dude. I hope youre joking.

  • rip

  • what year did henry rollins meet joe cole?

  • Fuck you, Rollins is pouring his heart out and explaining to his audience how hard it was to lose a friend like that...you homophobe!

  • your a fucking idiot

  • aight well lets see youve been on this video for weeks? just TRYING to diss him.nice choice of spending your life

  • Lick my balls, tiny.

    AND STOP TROLLING, WAAAAHHHH!!!

  • Any one who says this is gay is an insecure bitch who has never known what it is like to have a true friend in their entire and pitiful life.

At the height of my friendship with my buddy Robert, if he had asked me for it, I would have cut off my own arm and handed it to him. I was closer to that man than my own brother.

  • @Xerock im gonna fuck your buddy robert in his bum hole ;)

  • @PsychedelicVideos

I would pay to see you try and fail.

  • @Xerock

Hey don't say that. It's common for guys not to have a TRUE FRIEND (a guy) in their whole lifetime! Guys fear intimate friendships with guys. I think that's very regrettable. I really wish to have true, deep and meaningful friendships in my lifetime.

  • What year is this from?

  • "talking from the box"

    very early 1990s i think

  • usually Rollins is so intense but here he's almost vulnerable, its unnerving

  • He does the best impersonation of Sly' Stal'.

I'm not the sort of person to swear on YouTube but I just want to say that with the obvious exception of the robbers, those cops were not only bastards but absolute f*cking c*nts who deserve to have vicious karma unleashed upon them whether it be vilified scorn or violent victimization.

  • henry is my hero, great speaker... and strangly looks like jim carey here

  • why do people think henry is gay. i just dont get it why.

  • Because he's a straight ally - outspoken gay rights activist. is involved a lot with the gay community - promoting their rights.

  • This was such a powerful story. We desperately need more voices and mind sets like Henry Rollins. I strongly believe this country... no... this world would be a much more decorous environment.

  • your a piece of shit. u use the computer 2 hide urself becuz ur a dam disgrace

  • wate wate, why is t bad that he said that? maybee he actually heard this, and if he did, so what? is there a problem that your god is gay? henry is awesome, and it would be way cooler if he was gay and open about it, i mean look at dave diktor! hes fucking awesome, aaaaanndddd gay!

  • probably the heaviest youtube video ever

    Not a bad speaker either

  • This is the man i want to meet, shake his hand, and say"Thank You"

  • i love how he seamlessly introduces himself into this story 9:38

  • this is one of the saddest vids i've ever seen on youtube =|

    really amazing person

  • Is this on one of his spoken word albums?

  • i watched his stand up and its freakin hilarious. he can be funny as shit or seroious and hes tha shit.
