i attempt to tease my hair the second way you did it and it just doesn't look right or work very well. if u grab to much hair does it not work as well?

no it's just back combing it

does teasing tangle your hair? i tried teasing my hair my hair before and it made it kinda tangly

well the "tangled" part is what helps give your hair that pouf. however, to make it look neat and smooth, just simply (carefully!) comb the top layer of hair that you just teased.

could you use moouse/gel instead of hairspray?

you can probably use moose, but use it before you tease. i wouldn't use the gel because it takes forever it dry and it weighs hair down.
