trust me this part might not seem too good but marmalade boy is such a good anime:) i saw it a few years ago &ndd now my younger sister is going to watch it haha...your japanese friend had some good taste for classics;D because marmalade boy is one of the best animes from the 90s:))
@iygbnk I havn't watch the show but i'd read the manga. It's genre is comdy/romance/drama , from what i can remember is the girl lives with her parents/stepsparents & step brother.(sounds complicated at first but they are 1 big happy family ( without given too much detail) theres a love triangle and some drama.Im not into these things but i like it ,it's light hearted balance out with the characters' 'complcated" relationships. But i guess you need to be in the right mood to watch it.
