  • Reply to Gamit58...Eclectus are demanding but not as much as other breeds. I have 5 Eclectus so I know what I'm talking about. They do love to just sit and watch you. Mine are out of there cages most of the day. But compared to the Greys and other simular birds these guys are alot easier

  • The thing you are saying about food is understated. Do not feed them regular parrot food. Just soft beans and sprouts. My base food was a dove mixture that had been left in water to sprout over night. They will eat seeds cause they like it a lot but you will kill them by doing that. And lots of fruit..they love pomme grenade, Their liver cant handle fatty food like avocado or sunflower seeds so please dont kill them. Not as bad as Loris but almost so be careful

  • I just want to point out that these parots are as smart and demanding as any when it comes to keeping. The difference is that it is the only one of probably three different larger breeds suitable for keeping in apartments since they are not as ludmost other breeds . (Pionus and possibly the Jako are the other two).

  • What a baby...I remember mine being a baby too. Mine is now almost five years old in November!
