  • You make it look so effortless! :D

  • my dance teacher calls it and anashicod...... im 100% sure i spelt that wrong haha

  • These aren't butterflies you're supposed to move the whole of your legs and point your toes keeping your feet in the same position. Watch Jean Butler do it.

  • @Kriesbach1986 Really i think double downs are the hardest! hehehe but thats just me!

  • theres 2 ways to do a butterfly , thats only one way, the other is when Ex. the right foot is in front of the other the left foot comes in front, then back to the right in mid-air then u land with your right foot in front

  • I do my butterflies differently, but that was pretty cool

  • that's not what we call a butterfly..

  • you should make this in slow motion so we can see it better! but this is great!

  • @ghillies4life uhmmm.... yeah theres no such thing as a quiver, bump, or hit.... and all the other names for things are different anyways... i mean honestly how could you not be able to tell the difference between a double cut and double knee... or between a treble and a rally? you must not be very good if you think they're the same. I totally agree with you though, eveyone calls it something different, but ur comment really had no effect of proving it. sooo yeah

  • @annelisethedancer913 whoa, someone doubled up on the bitch pills today. at my school we DO do quivers. and trebles and rallies are the same here too. calm down.

  • @annelisethedancer913 Hmm. Glad you have such a high opinion of yourself that you KNOW what I call things at my Irish dance school. And just a side-note. I have moved a lot and changed schools a lot. I have heard all of those terms from TCRGs and ADCRGs at accredited schools.

  • @annelisethedancer913 Trebles and rallys are the same thing, or so I have learned (2 different schools, have shadowed at more). Perhaps you are thinking of tips (2 beats) rather than trebles, rallys, shuffles, etc. (3 beats). And there are definitely such things as quivers, bumps, and hits--your school just calls them something different, in all likelihood. Your comment was way less effective than ghilles4life's- at least she is open minded and her comment was very insightful.

  • incredible of how fast you move your feet ! bravo!!

  • fue todo?

  • omg that looks so cool, but i cann't do them :(

  • those are pretty tricky... but i like em better than siccors....

  • ermm is tht not double jumps not butterflies ?

  • @Cutiepops97 A lot of things in Irish dance have multiple names. Almost no Irish dance move has a standard name. Is it a quiver or a flick? Is it a rally, a treble or a shuffle? Is it a double cut or a double knee? Is it a bump or a hit? Is it a leap or a jump? Things really need to be standardized, but no one's gotten around to it yet.

  • ermm ritee whtever all am saying is tht a dnt call them tht n ure not THT good at them :D

  • Legitimate comment, if it were my video.

  • I cant do that..

my feet dont do that what they should..

I can jump and i can land.. but the part inbetwen is to hard for me

  • there easy if you dont think about what your feet are meant to be doing and just let it happen. i know that sounds so lame, but it actually works

  • I think butterflies are one of the hardest things in irish dancing.

  • OMG I know!! I find them impossible. Have you ever tried to do the ones in the air... As if you're about to do a high click jump...

  • I can do that.

  • flex your feet a bit more

  • I think this is also called a flutter.

  • Knees were too bent and landings too heavy- try to land on the top of your toe for a lighter look. The cracking was positively gross but hey, it happens to every dancer I know lol. I think the ankle movement is good but work on keeping the whole leg together for the switching butterflies.

  • that is not a butterfly!!!!

  • Irish dance has different terminology. To you this may not be a butterfly but to many people it is.

  • ya but real butterflies spread their wings so your feet should be more flexed and spread out like a butterfly :)

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

  • Ther Ok

  • I like how your ankle cracks when you jump, lol.

  • @irishdancer7513 perhaps you could show us?

  • @orchardlea I attached a video response. :)

  • The first set was butterflies but the next set were boxes. That's what my school calls them.

  • it was ok but turn ur feet out a little more!

  • no offense but those need alot of work

  • LOL

  • my butterflys are diffrent to yours we do a kick thing lol x

  • those are like the most amazing butterflies ever..mine suck

  • That's a really cool step, but that's not what i was taught was butterflies. Thats one thing that drives me crazy! All of the different lingo for every step!

  • yeah it drives me crazy too haha.

    we call these butterflies too.

does anyone know, are these the same as cross keys?

    great dancing btw =]

    x

  • i don't think so with my school these are butterflies and key crosses are something different

  • i have to do these in my new step for the reel and i dont have a clue how to do them! haha they look brill tho

  • kool

  • nice job getting them tight. try to turn out a little more. very nice!

  • Sure! I can't believe you can hear my ankles cracking, though...and I love how I almost fall over at one point :)

  • youre kidding! thats your ankles? wow... and i thought my joints cracked :)

  • Neat, thanks! I always wondered what a butterfly was supposed to look like...
