How can you tell the surface you are stepping on to get close to the fresh stuff won´t sink in? Seems like russian roulette to me ...

Lucky he had the wind blowing. The orange is easily 1050*C and fresh, hard, black outer skin 750*C which is f'n hot!

Guess not. The irradiating heat would make you feel extremely discomfortable. Trust me, it's far worse than a forest fire, which is HOT AS HELL.
