  • You have some pretty hair but 90% of the time I don't know what you're even talking about. I guess it's the way you do your videos.

  • did you ever receive headaches with this product? I did. It was my staple, but I started getting severe headaches, and now I stopped for about a month and I have had NO headaches, and my headaches used to be daily.

Has any one experienced headaches with any of the africa's best products?

  • @colorfulsin I never tried thier Olive Oil Deep Conditioner before, but I've used thier Hair Mayonaise, Cholestorol, Rinse Out-Leave In Conditioner, and thier Herbal Oil. I've never experienced headachs or any type of discomfort using any of thier products. Results vary depending on the person I guess, maybe your body disagrees with one or a few of the ingredients in the product lol.

  • @colorfulsin i stopped using this over a yr ago bc they changed ingredients and didnt work nearly as well. but i never got headaches - i only tried the 'new and improved" version a couple times (still have half a container). i still use their setting lotion and no problems there. thats very interesting tho

  • OMGEE WAT COLOR ARE YOUR EYES

  • lmao..i post before watchin the whole video..mah bad!..lolol

  • yoo, i can see your hair in a nice mohawk!...u have THICK hair, it beautiful!

  • Did not see the video with the stringy band-where can i purchase one...

  • whats a cowash?

  • Is there a company website for african best organics?

  • LES NUBIANS!!!

  • I love your hair, have been for almost a year now and i still can't find products that work for me. I have 4B or C still trying to figure that one out. my hair is very dry sometime brittle, i try CD and miss jessie nothing they just makes my hair feel oily. i leave in new york so right now it cold can't wash and go. Can you give me some advice on products, right now my hair just feel dry and brittle with no curls pattern

  • @happilynatural09

hi i know findng products can be a challenge but dont think u have to use the "special" lines. have u tried this organics dc? its pretty cheap to try if ur still looking for a good condr :)

im in nyc too...take a look at my winter WnG vid then get back to me

  • i just saw the video, i have never heard of aloe vera gel, but what was your routine when you first started. My last perm was March of 09

  • ru 100% or in transition bc ur hair will be diff even if inch of perm is left. after i was 100% i cowashed daily with queen helene cholesterol condr for a couple months b4 i switched to the organics - i think my new hair needed the protein/moisture combo

if you mix av gel w/shea use an organic, nothing else in it, type...used by itself use one generally advertised for sunburns etc (and alcohol free) like 'fruit of the earth' - again i have a vid on that too :) 'my avgel trials'

  • i am 100% natural i did my bc in september, i don't have any relaxer in my hair, i am going to try try the queen helene with shea butter and the avgel, then i will switch to the organic where do you get the fruit of the earth shea? thanks

  • @happilynatural09

fruit of the earth is AV gel. i found at rite aid and a hs store

i switched to the white shea - i think its just two diff types but try NOT to get it in the container and still chunky bc then ur sure it has nothing else mixed in

  • which shea butter there is two of them, there is a yellow and white one, the yellow is like the one you holding in one of your video,

  • there is also a leave-in conditioner of Organics Olive Oil :) it works super as well

  • You have beautiful skin by the way.

  • Beautiful Were you cowashing every day? So you drenched your hair and put in like a tsp of codish?

  • @TrueZeal

yup! religiously...i still do except for twistout week of course

    thanks

  • Do you finger comg every day?

  • yup in the shower, this gets rid of shed hair that would otherwise cause a knot down the line. coily hair doenst allow shed hair to just fall out like straight hair so you have to coax it out sometimes :)

  • I was going to ask about shed hair. I do wash and go's and only finger comb in the shower, but I noticed more shedding than before. I'm 2 mths past BC. Is this normal?

  • @vhicks265

could be ur condr. did you change lately? HH made my hair shed horribly!!

or is your hair in a shed cycle? (you'll know bc it will start to feel normal after 2 or 3 days)

  • @vhicks265

oh yeah, and check out vid 'blowout 3'

i show my "normal" shed hair

  • Your hair is beautiful and I love your vids...

  • does this product help with breakage

  • not sure how to answer...breakage happens when you manip/comb at the wrong stage - aka when hair is dry, not slippery - keeping hair well conditioned/hydrated keeps hair pliable, less prone to break n tangle...

for me this prod conds well and allows easy shed hair removal w my fingers. i only brush with gel bc condrs do not give me slip :)

  • I am going to start using olive oil!

  • my hair use to be just like urs haha cute

  • Your hair is gorgeous! I've been using Organics Olive Oil Deep Conditioner before I found this video. I've been using it over months time and I love it! It works great especially after using the companion shampoo. Amazing for 4a and 4b hair :D

  • beautiful!!

btw.. whats the name of the song that starts @ 4mins?!

  • whats co-washing?

  • when u wash ur hair with a conditioner instead of a shampoo....thats co-wasing

  • I love your hair!

  • Sweet! I went and bought the bobby pins today, and I've got big plans for tomorrow morning. lol ... And if you made that video, I'd def be pleased to watch it.... thanks for the response!

  • i couldnt remember who requested this!! lol

well i added that tutorial to my last vid 'dry heat' with stretched out hair - enjoy :)

  • Your hair really is beautiful! And I love the style on Day 6 (when you were talking about the snow flurries) ... would you mind telling me how you did that? Did you use bobby pins or something?

  • thank you!

several ppl have asked me this (guess i need to do a vid :) yeah its just bobby pins, the straight ones bc the crinkled ones tend to grab when i take them out...just push hair up the sides (no brushing necessary) and pin

  • You have beautiful hair!

  • I am newly natural (bc 4/19/09). I bought the organics deep conditioner, amongst other products because of the ingredients. How has the formulation changed, and how can you tell. I co-washed this am, and left it in as a leave in. I must say, my curls were poppin, but i think i might have used a little too much cause my hair was a little stiff. I will continue with this regimen unless my results change. You are wonderful, thanks for the encouragement.

  • thanks!

well when i made this vid there was no mineral oil in it - its #3 or so now - so i got scared to try it given the curse put on that ingredient :)

so this info is nice to know!! it might be getting a bad wrap for nothing LOL

  • from my understand of mineral oil is not on the hair that is the problem but on the scalp, but if u co=wash every day then it may not be a problem. I dunno

  • I loved that all she did was shake her head and her hair was instantly cute. I'm so jealous. LOL!

  • How did the queen helene work for you?... btw love the french songs so nice

  • i loved it...i only used it the first 3-4 months of being 100% natural...my hair soaked it up but i only used as a cowash not a leave-n bc its for strength (never leave this or one that says protein or fortifying as a leave-n...brittle city...not cute :) but works well to give hair some muscle!

  • you look soooo beautiful! Thanks for sharing:)

  • I finally bought this conditioner & OMG! A million thanks to you!!..my hair loooooooooooooooves it. I'm almost in shock... lol! I'm not a product lemming person & I like to 'keep it simple' but I'm soo glad that you put this out here. Again, thank you! <3

I'm fighting the hoarding instinct for fear they'll stop producing it or something! Gotta get a grip, i know.

  • I love their leave in condition, i've been using it since it came out and it's great.

  • I know a deep conditioner to mean... sumthing u put in ur hair, sit under a dryer, then ur hair hardens type of thing. is this oliv oild deep conditioner the same type of thing or is it more of a leave in conditioner cream?

ps. luv ur vids : )

  • that was the meaning for me too - but now i skip the dryer and just use it as my conditioner all the time. my hair shed and frizzed A LOT when i did the dryer thing so i stopped and the daily conditioning really hydrated my hair well and defined my coils

this cond is that type, i just found leaving it in did wonders for me

  • can i use extra virgin olive oil?

  • sure, if your hair likes it...i can only use very small amounts bc it tends to be really greasy in my hair if i use it by itself.

not sure what will happen if you use oil only as a leave-n...if you try it, let me know :)

ive only tried adding veg glycerin or castor oil to other conditioners (not this one tho)

  • So are you still co washing daily? and in the winter do you wash in the morning if so how much time do you leave in between washing and leaving the house? And if you are in a cold area what do you do when you leave, wear a hat, scarf, what?

  • yup, daily, at least 6 days a wk. im in nyc and i can go out slightly damp in 20deg weather and i dont feel a thing. sometimes i leave my hair in pins or puff from style b4 and just lightly rewet to refresh on really cold days - hats always work too :)

i towel wrap for about 20-30 minutes and im almost dry

  • Hey Cynthiarf, this is my 1st day using the organics olive oil conditioner, and Gurrrl when I say that I LOVE MY HAIR I really do love my hair, Im going to do the12 days and see how it goes.. 4 now Im just elated and free as a humming bird about my hair. Taken picks so that I can post later....just showing some love in return thanks Lady for sharing the information

  • :D!!! big cheese!! i get warm and fuzzy all over every time someone reports success with this...i am sooo glad this is working.

if you like it now when the weeks go by you wont even believe its yours! lol

cant wait to see the pics!!

  • WOW, Thank you for taking the time to do this video...xox

  • So were you co-washing it everyday? Ive never did it so im really interested to know!

i just do 1 wash and braid out and that usually lasts me a whole week so its someting new to try :)

  • yes for the first 2 months of this i cowashed and then added a little as a leave-n (daily)

i typ wash once a wk....

after 2mons of this i noticed after day 2 cowashing i could just wet wash and add leave-n

its perfect time to try it going into spring (warmer temps) let me know!!

  • So cute!

  • Queen!

    Your hair is absolutely beautiful!

  • gorgeous!!<3

  • where do you buy the organics olive oil deep conditioner? I've been to so many stores and I can't find it!!!

  • Great Product for my hair!! Thanks for recommending it. My 4b twa finally had curls popping and felt soft. My husband was so impressed with my curl pattern that he started cowashing his hair with it also!! I just bought a new container today. Lovin' it.

  • thats great!!

lol @ hubby using it now! i know u had to be looking good to make that kind of impression on him :o

  • I am impressed and wish my hair was as thick as yours

  • That was amazing how your hair when you took that towel off your head it expanded like it did wow looks great

  • I just did my b/c about 4 weeks ago (grew out of perm for 6 months). I believe your hair is the closest I've seen to my texture. I am currently using: care free curl curl activator, kinky curly custard and shea butter. I just started cowashing (twice now). Just curious have you tried these products now or then and what do you think of them? Thanks. I don't want to spend too much on products so my plan is to follow your foot steps. I'll send you pics.

  • well, i used a curl activating gel in the beginning but it made my coils too tight - never used an activator - KCCC i plan to try this summer.

my hair hates shea as a leave-in...seems to leave a film, but maybe i didnt get a good batch...idk. but i have used it as a pre-poo and it added alot of softness for that

    yes, i love pics!!

  • I love that condtioner! I mix it with Lustrasilk shea butter cholestorol and leave it in my hair for a couple hours. My body heat allows the product to penetrate. My curls are well defined after. When I am too lazy I do a late wash, apply conditioners and baggy when I go to sleep. I wake up and rinse. You should try it!! I saw a major difference in the softness as well as less frizz when I stopped using shampoo. I now use baking soda and conditioner. My hair stays shiny and frizz free.

  • hmmm, might try the overnight thing. i dont get the same effect if i rinse out tho

im using a dr bronner-like cleanser (all natural) and yes its night n day to shampoo

  • i love your voice..

please tell me the song in the video !

  • I finally bought this product sis and I love it. I also love your videos and have learned much for this afro of mine. Keep posting please!!!

    'Preciate ya'

  • 'preciate ya' right back :)

love that it worked for you too!!!

  • I really like your voice. I think you sound like Janet Jackson! I really like your hair too. Great videos!

  • Did you hear me say TV show? U r tooo good!

  • nope, none at all, thats why i kept doing it :) but i do need to wash after 8-10 days but thats what i was doing anyway.

  • I purchased this product a few days ago on accident (long story). I'm glad it works so well for you. Your hair looks great! I can't wait to crack mine open now! :)

  • maybe it will be a happy mistake :) let me know how it works

  • Your hair is EXACTLY like mine. I feel like I'm looking at my hair twin. :-) All of your tips are connecting with me. Thanks

  • i love that twist out puff!!!! very nice. I just recently went to using natural products. I use Aubrey Conditioner and used a can of coconut milk and olive oil and my hair is holding moisture. less is more.

  • what did you say at 4:37? you still have your what?

  • oh, lol....

i still have my squeak! when i wash or cowash i get that squeak sound (good indication hair is clean, no build up)

  • u smack ur tongue too much. great video

  • Your hair is unbelievably amazing!...I love it...so thick and so healthy! Thanks for the vid!

  • wow, give me your hair thickness!

  • Yup I LOVE the comliments on my natural hair!!!!

  • Les Nubians are my girls. I haven't listened to that cd since college!! lol Time to dig in the crates.:)

  • I love your hair!!!!! I have finally found someone whose hair looks EXACTLY like mine (my hair looks just like yours when I finish cowashing it) I was wondering do you trim your hair often?

  • thanks!

i do trim...im calling it "dusting" tho...ill explain when the next vid comes out soon :) ...been a little distracted... it really helps keep each spring-lett formed - less fly away strands.

  • I LIKE WHAT IT DID TO YOUR HAIR, NICE.

  • i love your hair. I hope to get that type of length.

  • it will come...patience :)

its kinda like watching a plant grow - cant look at it everyday - then one day, bam!, there's a blossom

  • Wow, I love the definition!

I was wondering if you experience any knotting at the ends when you use this method of low-no combing. I have been detangling and using a comb mainly to avoid the little knots that form at the ends of my hair. Does the daily weting help avoid this? Thank in advance.

  • wetting/this method absolutely changes everything!

when u comb tight coils u can cause the knots bc they tend to wrap together, then when u comb thru u make the knot...but if you use your fingers to just pull thru u feel the tangle b4 it becomes a knot.

check out my fingercombing vid :)

  • i've left my condish in before. it worked great as long as i diluted it with another gel or something. sometimes i got the best curls that way. i never leave only conditioner because it makes my curls crunchy. love the vlogs!

  • thanks

i got that crunchy/brittle thing too b4 but back then i wasnt adding it to soaking wet hair in the shower...and the cond i used at the time was not good for leave in - obviously...it def was the product.

  • Wow you are persuading me to try this (once it's warm of course...lol). Need to find a conditioner to do it with. Maybe Aubrey's. If I can find something cheaper with no silicones or parabens, then that will be it. Your hair looks great! When my hair is dripping with condish there is a noticeable curl pattern, but after I do stuff to it..nothing, so I'm gonna try this method.

  • dont let winter scare you away..."they" dont and neither should we... we need water just as much in the winter as summer (if not more...lips chap, skin cracks, hair is probably doing the same)

  • Your hair is beautiful Cynthia. I am also finding that basic hair care is the way to go. I shampoo every 5 to 7 days with shikakai powder and I cowash in between that. I use coconut oil /vatika oil and shea butter for my moisture and oil. I have found out that water is the main key to keep my hair soft and manageable. I've been natural since Aug. 30 and it didn't take long at all for me to catch on. Great videos.

  • thanks a bunch!!!

man i wished i had caught on back in august!

oh well...im on my way now :)

  • Thanks so much I actually have coils and I did all twist and had the strangle angles when I twist out now its banging

    thank ya

  • Wow! Gorgeous, healthy, thick, defined coils ... thanks for sharing this. You're blessed with a ton of hair ... so do I; but, I keep cutting it back into a short fro for that very reason. Hmmm ... I may have to let it grow now that I am inspired ... again!

  • you know I love your hair...that dog is so darn cute...lol

  • I am really thinking about the co-washing daily thing. I did that with my twa when i had one. I am worried though about the water because i am thinking i might have some hard water. Do you know how i could tell?? I know that my hair has been very dry and it might be from wrong products, but then again they are all natural so i wouldn't think so. I wish that conditioner was natural :(. Sounds great! Wow you have some beautiful hair girl!! Do you think any conditioner could work? LOVE ur hair :)

  • i was mixing in natural products too but was still "dry" and frizzy.

your water type shouldnt be an issue if your hair feels nice when wet but i think your water determines if a cond will work or not.

the only way to know if your cond can be left in is to try it - try a little at a time after cowashing. if not, something will, but the important thing is to cowash daily. finding a good leave-in is like everything else -trial and error

  • Oh ok, i just heard that water makes a difference if it is considered hard. I don't really know, you know how people say stuff or maybe it is just that things are different for different people. May not be water, might just be the product they use. I just bought a new one (conditioner) that i hope is better than the ones i have found. I like Aubrey organics Honeysuckle Rose though and Jane Carter. A while back, my hair felt kinda hard when wet. It has since gotten alot better. Thanks!!

  • Hate to step in but have u considered baking soda and conditioner. It can devolumize your hair by removing frizz but not all the way. It infuses moisture into your hair. See ItsMsHeatherNicole baking soda deep conditioner for all the info. Hate to mess up another Queen's hair so don't just go w/ what I write. But that might help. Don't have a moisture issue if using BS w/ Organics OO, Deep Restoring, and some other things thrown in. Ahh, i don't know, hope it's an idea for u

  • hmmm havent heard of the BS thing with conditioner - will have to check that out! thanks

  • I am probably the only natural that has yet to try baking soda! I use all natural things anyway, but i heard a long time ago that baking soda wasn't really good. Think it has something to do with what conventional ones have in them (aluminum). So i buy the kind that is free of that stuff from my fav health food store. I will check out that vid, thanx :)

  • i used to do loose twists at night in the back and sides bc i thought the "crushing" was slowing growth...but now that i cowash daily i dont need to try to keep next day curls. its the cowashing keeping them fresh and nice. this works far better than anything else ive tried!! AND it is so easy AND its still growing...give it a try.

im posting a finger combing howto soon...stay tuned!

  • Hi Lovely. First & foremost i love Youtube because of people like you. Thankyou so much for sharing your hair experience , & its more than just a hair thing, there is way more to you. Thats why i love your vids. Because of you I'm on a nocomb challenge for a year. Its kinda hard but i'm getting the hang of it. You are so right less hair , less tangles, less damage when you don't use a comb/ brush

  • how sweet!! thank you very much!!

it is def more than a hair thing for me bc i think its the first time we black girls have connected in such a positive way - without even knowing each other....now doing that in public is still a work in progress :)

soooo glad this is working for you. the more you do it the better u get at it...i bet that challenge becomes ur normal regimen!

  • where were you going all dolled up!?

  • lol, i know, im usually in plain jane mode. not sure where i was going that day, but im now trying to mix it and wear a little make up from time to time

  • I love your condition and go video. I will try it. Your hair is so beautiful. May God bless you and keep you and give you peace on your natural hair journey.

  • LOOOLL!@ sheep and dog!!

...i had some questions, but they

    were already answered.

  • Comment removed

  • lmfaooo @ the dog. i like ur hair.

  • I may have to check that product out. :)

  • at 3.99 its worth a try!! i hadnt found any conditioners that worked as a leave in until this product....let me kno how it works for you

  • I hope you haven't had to answer this before, but is the conditioner natural?

  • no :{ cant have everything i guess...but one day i hope to find one that works as well

  • I agree, cuz when Im doing a wash-n-go, the more i tough my coils the more they frizz.

*fantasia gel* and *nappy butter custard* aren't really necessary lol

  • whoo-hoo!! yes! another sis on the simple train to beautiful hair...amazing isnt it! less IS more! LOL

  • did you detangle your hair everyday before putting in the conditioner?

  • yes, as in i finger combed when wet in the shower

  • You hair is ridiculous!! (I mean this in a good way). I can tell the difference with the Organics product. This is not the first time I've heard of Organics working extremely well. Ok...well I'm off to buy the deep conditioner now lol

  • LOL!! i think its a keeper! and for $3.99... WHAT?!

thanks...i could even tell the difference and you know how hard that is to see in yourself! i thought it was a good gamble bc the curl keeper worked so well

  • Your hair looks phenomenal. I have some of that stuff, I stopped using it when I had a twa- now that my hair is longer I may try it again. I liked it when I was transitioning. Thanks for the video - I have 3 unused bottles at home. Ill try it this weekend.Yipee something new to play with:-)

  • thanks girl...it is coming along!

thats how i felt when i bought this stuff (but then i was crossing my fingers...thank god everything came out ok - well better than ok!!)

hope it works for u too

  • your hair is gorgeous!
