  • Wonderful aircraft.a great workhorse, better in the role of ground attack and troop support than the P51

  • Please turn that annoying music off...

The engine sound is the music we want to hear !

  • Back ground music is pure bullshit and spoil the video !!!!

  • How did this stack up against the zero? I've spent time in China and the tiger plane is legendary over there. Zeros would be strafing villages for sport and in came these spirit planes and the Japs would high tail it out of there. The American military is still admired in the Chinese population from those days.

  • @tostentwo the P40 would have an Advantage in diving but everything else the zeke would do better turning climbing and full Thrott forward so the p40 would do diving attacked and use its diving speed to get away if they got into Trouble

  • Nice video and very good camera work.

  • and the pink Curtiss P-40 also bears conflicting insignia: the 1943 rondel, the Flying Tiger of the American Volunteer Group of the Chinese Air Force (Which was disbanded on July 4, 1942), the flag badge of the BRITISH Royal Air Force, AND PINK paint, which was NEVER used in any capacity!!! GET YER INSIGNIA RIGHT, PEOPLE!!!

The "color" known as "Desert Pink" was IN FACT a badly faded SAND which was painted over "TRANSPORT GRAY".

  • Why would you ever let a woman fly a warbird?.....just kidding.Much respect to the WASPs and Rosies out there.I think our planes were built better than our enemies due to the extra care put into every job by our females during the war.Like they say, behind every good man(soldier or pilot),there is a good woman(WASP or Rosie)!

  • she would marry me????

  • This is the most beautiful of american ww2 fighters, a real good looker.

  • I love the jaws theme with the planes decor

  • @igenther99 The shark-mouth motif fits the P-40 pretty well, yes; but I find it soooo boring that they have decorated almost all surviving P-40s with THE SAME shark mouth and the same fierce-looking eyes, while in fact there were almost countless shark mouth designs for the P-40. Practically, every P-40 during the war bore a different one, and to be honest, I´d love to see one re-painted as Clive "killer" Caldwell´s "GA-Y" Kittyhawk, with the real shark mouth it had; not this one once more.

  • @AlanMartinNala YES I mean we dont even care about what they looked like in the 40's why dont we use the original skin with a real decor on the front!!

  • The P-40E with S/N 11456 crashed early April 2009 in Long Island, NY killing the pilot.

  • You mean the green one with the star and bar??? @1:25?

    That fuckin sucks. . .:-(

  • I have a book about the P-40 which has that plane sitting on top of a gas station in the 1950s somewhere in Canada or Washington State before someone purchased it and restored it to flying condition.

  • The P-40 took to the air in 1938. Known as the Warhawk in the US, Tomahawk to the British and Kittyhawk for the later D model. The early P-40s had an Allison V12 of about 1,040 hp but the aircraft excelled in diving and could endure harsh environments like desert and jungle. 28 nations used the P-40 during WW2 which is remarkable for such an early design.

  • In reality, only FIFTEEN air forces used the P-40 airframe series. The ENTIRE LINE of CURTISS-built fighters was used by 28 nations.

    Get the facts straight.
