the only part that scared me a little at all through the whole movie was at 3:05 when he sees a shadow of a person... the rest of the movie just sucked for me... i was really disapointed.. no disrespect to anyone who liked it
The first time I saw this I was alone in my room at 3 in the morning and it just about scared the shit out of me. Awesome movie. Ridiculously underrated.
This scene scared the shit outta me when I first saw this movie! I didn't like the twist at the end (since I was hoping for something more supernatural and not a deliberately ambiguous twist), however, this scene made me love the movie as it's still never explained who or what the dark figure is. Gordon had a limp and was pretty stocky, so there was no way he could have ran that distance to over-take the head-phoned guy and attack him. That dark figure is definitely not one of the workers!
supposedly the dvd has deleted scenes that point to a dropped subplot in the film involving someone who lived at asylum. As is, I think its established that the figure is gordon who spends the weeknights walking the halls.
Creepiest sequence in the entire movie, except for the scene with Hank squatted down in the hall mumbling incoherently in the dark after his lobotomy.
